It's a Wonderful Life sequel? It's a classic so why now, I guess this isn't the first overly long delayed sequel they did a prequel to the Oz I believe recently.

Possible Titles For The MAN OF STEEL Sequel

I was thinking Man of Steel and The Dark Knight would have been a good title...

Hopefully none of these ends up being the title. They need to stick with Batman vs. Superman or call it World's Finest.
Posted 25 November 2013 - 02:38 AM
This Batman vs. Superman movie is intimidating, if this doesn't work.. this will be a HUGE blow for DC. I almost feel like they should stick to TV, I mean look at how well Smallville and Arrow are doing now. I probably will end up seeing this in the end.
I like that Olga is being considered for Wonder Woman but at the same time I am not sure that she would fit the part.

The idea of it being in Tokyo was shot down earlier this year. Whether FOX goes back to it or not with a writer I've never heard of is on them. All I know is that the franchise needs to go out on a HIGH note after the disappointment that was A Good Day To Die Hard.

Certainly sad news to all the fans of the F&F franchise. Not to be insensitive on the subject but I'm already reading that F&F7 may still proceed with its scheduled 2014 summer release and it may have a tribute to him. I found it pretty surprising and shocking when I heard the news, thanks sharing ACE.

Thought I'd let everyone know that Paul Walker has died. I've read this from now four sources that say he was killed in a car accident that ended up in flames. Again, this is not a joke I am making because of a certain franchise he stars in. He was forty years old.
Yea, it's a damn shame. Walker was one of my favorite actors. F&F won't be the same. I wonder how they'll handle it in Fast 7. From what I hear, not all of his scenes were completed, so we'll see. Think I'll give Pleasantville a watch as a tribute.

I still can't believe this Paul Walker news, truly sad for any F&F fan. Maybe he is on an island somewhere with 2 Pac and Heath Ledger talking about how everyone is going to see F&F7 now.
Filming on the FAST AND FURIOUS 7 has been postponed indefinitely.
It has been a couple of days since the tragic death of Paul Walker, and as many of his family members, friends and fans continue to grieve, there is still the reality that he was a major part of Universal’s billion dollar, FAST AND FURIOUS franchise. The sixth installment is getting ready to come out on Blu-ray and DVD next week, while the seventh one has been filming since September.
According to the New York Times, filming was about half way done for the film and Walker still had several crucial scenes to film. Filming was set to resume this week after a Thanksgiving break last week but has now been postponed indefinitely while the studio and filmmakers determine how to proceed with the film. The film was already on a tight production schedule with a release date set for July 11, 2014. It seems like it will be difficult for Universal to meet that date, especially if there are massive re-writes and additional scenes have to be filmed. The cast and crew are also going to need some time before they get back to filming, so I assume Universal is going to push this release date soon.

According to The Wrap, the producers of FAST AND FURIOUS 7 are even considering scrapping the production completely and starting over. While that seems like it would be catastrophic, the article points out that Universal has insurance that would cover most of the production costs if they were to start over.
This isn’t confirmed and apparently Universal still wants to hit that July 11, 2014 release date but it is one of the many scenarios being considered right now.

I don't think that's what he would have wanted.
Still, what an awkward and horrible position to be in for the studio.
Anyway, my thoughts are with his friends and family at the moment, and probably at the worse time of year also.

For those that are interested, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit has been postponed to the Cinematic wasteland they call, January. Scheduled to be released on Friday January 17th, 2014. I wonder if it will still do well at the box office, since there is literally no marketing to it all. Despite having now, two posters, and a trailer, I haven't heard much at all.
Also, I was given an invitation to attend a private screening of Pierce Brosnan's spy film, November Man, but I ended up not going, as I couldn't make it, which shames me, because I really wanted to see it and to see Brosnan back on the screen.

I really hope they make it r-rated and if possible with an 80's soundtrack.

January is no longer considered a wasteland anymore. The studios have had lots of success with this time slot, and since THE HOBBIT 2 will clean up again it´s possible a good idea to get this film out of the way and give it a chance when all the other high profile releases of the Christmas season are running out. Hence, no marketing so far.
Still, if the film had been testing through the roof they would have put it out in late spring where releases begin to expand the summer season.

The film, according to the article, will reportedly be based on the novel NEVER GO BACK, the 18th novel in the Jack Reacher series.

December never seemed well with me, Summer seems better. I'm concerned that the studio has no faith, because with 5-6 weeks left, there's nothing, no talk from average cinema goers at all. None of my friends had even heard of it. Hell, the studio canceled the test screening I was supposed to go to a while back which concerns me.
That is indeed not a good sign.
But I do not believe that the film has turned out bad. Rather the studio has decided it is not the usual mindless action extravaganza so they do not know what to do with it. Maybe Branagh has actually crafted an intelligent adult thriller. And this is hardly the stuff studios like (or know how) to market anymore.

The books are, for the most part, quite good. I thought that ONE SHOT, the novel on which JACK REACHER is based, was superior to the film, but there was enough good in JACK REACHER to lay the foundation for a solid film series. The biggest thing that JACK REACHER had going for it was Cruise himself who, despite all the whining on the internet, did a damn fine job as Jack Reacher. If Cruise can bring a similar performance to a sequel, then I can only see them improving on the first attempt and making an even better film.

The director hired for World War Z - Part 2 is quite good. He directed a terrific horror film called The Orphanage.
A sequel to JACK REACHER is good news I think, the first one was entertaining, had its flaws but Tom Cruise gave a good performance.
Jason Clarke as John Connor? IMO he's a talented actor, has given good performances, the last one I saw of him was in Zero Dark Thirty, great movie, so I guess he'll do good with the role.

This is good and bad news to me. Good that we will get a Naked Gun reboot, bad that it will star Ed Helms. I mean could they not get Steve Carell?

I'm one of the very few people who enjoyed all four Terminator movies, and I'd welcome a fifth entry. But if this new movie (and the TV series that will accompain it) is seriously a reboot, I'll never watch it. And why change John Connor at all? Just get Christian Bale back.
Posted 13 December 2013 - 09:48 PM
Several things for me to talk about and give my two cents: I'm really happy that Tom Cruise is pursuing a sequel for Jack Reacher, as I loved the first film. Good to see that a sequel will be underway for World War Z, hopefully it brings the book to life and further delves into Brooks' Zombie timeline. Terminator: Genesis sounds like a straight-to-DVD title, don't like it all, and so far, I haven't been impressed with anything regarding the film. I don't like the idea of rebooting the franchise, even with Schwarzenegger in the film. Salvation finally brought us to the future and told the story of the war between the Resistance and the Machine, why scrap it and go back and tell a reboot? Though I like the idea of having Jason Clarke as John Connor, I don't like the reboot, and at this point, I'd rather them scrap it. Why do we need a reboot of The Naked Gun, and with Ed Helms of all people to lead it? Is Hollywood this bored?
Regarding trailers, Saw new trailers for 300: Rise Of An Empire, Godzilla, and Christopher Nolan's Interstellar at the midnight showing for The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug. The new trailer for 300: Rise Of An Empire further infuriates me in how they are going about doing it. The Trailer for Godzilla on the other hand looks very dark and visceral. It looks like America is finally getting the Godzilla it so rightfully deserves, and the Parajumpers doing the halo jump with the flare smoke was absolutely brilliant. The film is definitely a must see for me now. Loved seeing people rave and cheer for the trailer, that made me really happy. The trailer for Nolan's Interstellar was an interesting one. It features a narration from the film's lead, Matthew McConaughey, and contains about 15-20 seconds of actual footage. The rest contains nothing more than stock footage of space exploration and various other means of NASA type of stuff. While the stock footage tells us that the film will deal with space and many space theories, it doesn't really tell us the nature of the film. No subtle hints at all, and no clear look. While it may be a teaser trailer, it was a pretty poor one, and that says a lot, considering it was a teaser trailer.

And we have more official news on the TERMINATOR: GENESIS front:
Emilia Clarke officially cast as Sarah Connor

Chalk me up as one who enjoyed all four films as well. That's not to say that there's not a big gap in terms of quality between the Cameron films and T3/SALVATION, but the lesser films still have their moments. It also seemed like the team behind SALVATION had some interesting ideas as to where to take the franchise in the future, and it's a shame that they won't have the opportunity to see those ideas through. The studio absolutely should have pushed forward with a true TERMINATOR 5 headlined by Bale and Schwarzenegger instead of rebooting an unfinished franchise. Honestly, this reboot is one of the most asinine things I've seen from Hollywood, and that's saying something.
