Also, some people are starting to post bootleg copies of the trailer with poor quality. I think this should encourage the studio to release it online since they don't want fans to view it for the first time that way.
I'm not sure that's a factor. For one thing, I doubt the studio cares that much about the fans. They know we'll see the film no matter what.The people they're trying to reach are the people who might or might not see the film. For another thing, if people are interested enough in the trailer to watch it via a low-quality cell-phone video, then the trailer has already done its job for those people. I can't see there's a downside for the studio either way.
Hopefully they don't do it like Inception, where the trailer was released online a week or so after it appeared in front of a film.

But assuming damnation were in order, would it be Eon or the studio we should be consigning to the fiery pits? This is an actual question--is it the studio that decides these things, or the production company, or both? I'm curious.
