B ) Being touted as an IMAX exclusive (and 3 minutes, which is long for a conventional theatrical trailer) strongly suggests it may not be available 'officially' online, but with Sony's Total Recall remake approaching quickly (in early August), there'll almost certainly be something attached to that - if not a 2 minute theatrical trailer also available online, then this trailer.

I'd be surprised if the IMAX exclusive trailer was released online. They didn't release TDKR prologue to the web, after all, so I'd be willing to be Sony will be following suit. We're going to have to pay to see it, if I had to guess, but I'd love to be proven wrong.
Agreed. I would be very surprised as well. Warner did a good job of making sure that the TDKR prologue never made it on the web in any shape or form, and given the tight-lid that Sony and EON have had over the production of this film, I wouldn't be shocked either if they followed suit and only let a portion of the moviegoing public see the trailer.
It was online for a while, on youtube no less.

I was actually annoyed they released the Skyfall teaser when they did. Could have been out much sooner. Many studio franchise tentpoles are putting teasers out a full year before the films are released - TDKR last summer, Superman this summer (attached to TDKR).
At this point, we're what? 4 months from Skyfall's release? 3? It's ridiculous - ridiculous - that there isn't an epic theatrical trailer out now, attached to every single one of these blockbuster tentpoles.
EDIT: Just realized that the first Quantum trailer was, what? Early July? That seems even crazier in retrospect.

That would be overkill. I remember seeing a trailer for Prometheus, that ran before MIB:3, which showcased Idris Elba (I saw at the Magic Johnson Theater in Harlem). With so many sequels, prequels and re-boots this summer, I'm glad that there hasn't been a hard sell for Skyfall as yet (and by extension I'm glad the series isn't released during the summer anymore).
Expect to see the promotional push come September. Beyond another trailer and TV spots, expect commercials from Heineken and any other brand that's directly attached to the production.

For an "Exclusive" first look at the trailer, they would be keeping a very close eye to make sure noone was filming - and anyone caught attempting to would be dealt with quite severely.Don't any of the nerds that go to these events have camera phones?

The very first trailer for "Dark Shadows" was only released on March 15, and it had its premiere on May 9. So less than 2 months before the films release.
Same for "Pirates of the Caribbean 3" in 2007: first trailer in march, movie in May.

I'm seeing THE DARK KNIGHT RISES in IMAX Digital on Friday so not sure whether that will qualify for the exclusive trailer, if that's what is going to happen. Just over five days to wait to find out though.

But it's a special corporate screening, so they may not run trailers at all in front of it. Unclear at this point.

If this is attatched to The Dark Knight Rises, will it be an IMAX exclusive? I have tickets booked for a regular showing (No IMAX unfortunately) on friday night, what are the chances that it'll be attatched to a regular screening?
I'm assuming it will be. If so, Sorry mate
