I'd welcome Blood Stone with better graphics, because Blood Stone was a damn good game! It's a shame it never came to be. I think Bond is better suited for third-person, but companies probably lean to first-person for two reasons. One, the success of the original GoldenEye game for Nintendo 64. In many minds, that is the only way to do a Bond game. The second reason is the success of other first-person shooters like Call of Duty. While first-person works better for multiplayer, third-person is most ideal for the story mode, in my opinion. I can't remember if it was this thread or another where I mentioned Hitman: Absolution would be a good template for a Bond game. Excellent blend of stealth and action, as well as a nice variety of missions.

As much as I can gather, total sales for 007L are at a pathetic 240,000. Compared to 1 million for Blood Stone and 3 million for GE:R (including the Wii version). So yeah, the Bond game franchise is essentially dead. Thank you craptivision.

Really? That low? Jeez - for such a hugh marketing push in the 50th year, that's really bad news.

I don't think that this is necessarily a bad thing. The franchise has, at least hopefully, bottomed out. It's time to take the license to a new developer, maybe to a less established developer who is hungry for a hit game and will put the necessary effort into a new Bond game.

I'm not surprised the game bombed. It's appalling. This is officially the first Bond game, I just couldn't be bothered to complete. I got up to the Licence To Kill mission, then got bored. I took it back to HMV, made up a cock and bull story about how it was for my brothers birthday, but he already had it, got my money back, and got The Dark Knight Trilogy on Blu Ray instead. Well worth the money, I'd rather spend £33 on that, than £40 on a terrible game.

While I don't agree on The Dark Knight Trilogy part, good choice nonetheless.

Nice work DC. I myself a mug for the Bond name, so I'll keep this game forever to go back one time I'm bored for a while, as with all my Bond games.
(And I agree tdalton, nice sig - very effective!)

Yeah I definitely agree, Daniel Craig does not look good on that box art, and he is a sexy individual. Shame.

Thanks for the link! Not surprising....!
Interesting list...have to agree with 'Arkham City' and 'Inversion' too.

I must admit, I did have a grin on my face as I was storming Piz Gloria!
Though I understand the story might change a bit, I hate how they have changed it completely for some scenes, Bond
and Blofeld fighting in a cable car!!!???
Quite like Felix though, he seems more physical in Goldfinger, compared to his personalty in the film, he actually chips in with shooting
down some goons also.
Not sure about the 360 and PS3, but online play on the Wii U is excellent, was up until 2:00 am this morning on it!

Just got it from gamefly today. Not at all impressed by the first level, but I'll suffer to the very end.

Well, finished 007 Legends including the Skyfall levels. Honestly, I have no desire now to ever play it again. Last time that happened for a Bond game was 007 Racing.

Posted 31 December 2012 - 11:55 AM
Ahh '007:Racing'! There's a blast from the past!
Yeah, I've shelved my Legends game now, don't know when I'll have the urge to back to it. That 'Skyfall' level just seals it's fate for me - such a naff waste.

It really is. There was absolutely no reason that it had to be released a month after the rest of the game. There are absolutely no spoilers and that last level is just beyond boring.

I don't care, I am going to buy this game for myself eventually (after I finish L.A Noire which I am addicted too!)

You're better off waiting until the summer when the game's $30.00 and under. It's not worth $60.00.
