Some incredibly ignorant comments here. This development house going bust is not going to improve a thing for 007 games. Eurocom made games within the restrictions laid out by the publisher and they've proven themselves very talented when given the right opportunity. No developer was going to turn 007 Legends into gold when dealt the same hand Eurocome was.
To paraphrase: 'Praise Jebus! People lost their jobs and the UK games industry has shrunk further. Rejoice!'
Agreed.
I don't like hearing the calls for other peoples' jobs like this, especially when they're put in a position to fail by Activision and are then let go because of it. We're talking about regular people here who are now out of a job.
If you want to call for the firing of someone, how about the corporate bigwigs that allocate the resources at Activision. I'm sure Eurocom did the best that they could do with the resources given to them. I mean, does anyone really set out to make a bad game. I feel certain that the people who are actually doing the work don't set out to do that. The people in the corporate office might, and that's why they allocate resources in the way that they do, but I doubt that anyone actually involved in the making of the game wants to put out a bad product that could ultimately lead to their being unemployed.
