maybe since they got rid of the entire staff now.........they put more effect on the next one.......either a original game or make skyfall game only.......and target for 2015 should be the goal

I highly doubt it because activision is still the publisher. I mean after Bizarre Creations closed, the 2 games we got were Goldeneye Reloaded and 007 Legends. So obviously it's not quality that they are going after. I don't doubt the assertion that it will take longer for another Bond game (2014 at the earliest), but I don't think the quality will increase until Activision cedes the franchise to another publisher. I still like the prospect of Ubisoft getting it.

I think Activision would be pretty stupid not to take notice this time around. Their two most recent Bond devs have both been closed down due to games that were poorly marketed and rushed to release. Hopefully they'll buck their ideas up for their (likely) swansong.

Perhaps, knowing they rushed Legends, they will go back to the Raven game again and finish it off.

I mean I feel bad for the people who lost their jobs, but I feel like this had to happen, it shows that you should really put time into what you are making for the fans of the franchise.

Goldeneye was a modest success and seemed to benefit from a longer production schedule than Legends. It's terrible that all these people are now unemployed. I thought the game looked horrendous but I certainly could not have done any better, and I have a feeling that the amount of time and resources given to Eurocom for its production only hurt the final product. Real shame. As for the future of the brand, I say ditch the first person genre, move toward a cinematic third person experience, and rather than release the game during a movie year, I say put it out during an off year and put some serious time into it. If the game ends up having to be pushed back, then there's no pressure to meet the looming deadline that ties in with a movie, and the production team can delay as they see fit. I'd still like to see the Raven game, but that's never going to happen. It may also be time for Bruce Feirstein to be let off the hook. I can't imagine that he has many ideas left, and if the dialogue in Legends is any indication, he's run out of things for his characters to say, too. Time for some fresh blood.

Some incredibly ignorant comments here. This development house going bust is not going to improve a thing for 007 games. Eurocom made games within the restrictions laid out by the publisher and they've proven themselves very talented when given the right opportunity. No developer was going to turn 007 Legends into gold when dealt the same hand Eurocome was.

To paraphrase: 'Praise Jebus! People lost their jobs and the UK games industry has shrunk further. Rejoice!'

Agreed.

I don't like hearing the calls for other peoples' jobs like this, especially when they're put in a position to fail by Activision and are then let go because of it.  We're talking about regular people here who are now out of a job.

If you want to call for the firing of someone, how about the corporate bigwigs that allocate the resources at Activision.  I'm sure Eurocom did the best that they could do with the resources given to them.  I mean, does anyone really set out to make a bad game.  I feel certain that the people who are actually doing the work don't set out to do that.  The people in the corporate office might, and that's why they allocate resources in the way that they do, but I doubt that anyone actually involved in the making of the game wants to put out a bad product that could ultimately lead to their being unemployed.

Those are my thoughts exactly. I don't blame Eurocom or Bizarre Creations at all. It was activision that went for a quick cheap buck instead of giving Eurocom the time resources they truly needed. EA seemed to give more time especially evident with Everything or Nothing. The 007 Legends debacle will not force activision to rethink they're policy on Bond...at least not in the way we want them too. They will either send it to another developer that will closed after being pressured, underfunded and eventually closed or *fingers crossed* they sell the brand to someone else. I also agree that Bruce Fierstein needs to go. He's needed to be dumped for awhile now.

I think we need to wait a good two years or more for a very good game instead of another rushed product.

I agree with General_Ouromouv. It might have not been their fault if they had no time and not enough money to make good graphics, but the rest is just their fault.

I wonder what EON and the others think about the game. I'm sure that whoever will come after Eurocom, even if under Activision will make something better than that s**t.

I also hope to see Risico finished one day.

They won't.  The only way a decent Bond game gets made at this point is if the license changes hands.

I will wait until this game price drop to under $20 and buy it.......the current price is not worth it.........seriously this game should be free since graphic/storyline is poor and crappy.........

I would like to see a MMOROG game for Bond.........a game that everyone can play for free and play your favourite character or something......

I, for one, would love a game where you could create your own agent, have it start at rookie and make him evolve as a "00". I'd like a roleplaying game in the universe of 007. But it wouldn't be an endless shooter like the games nowadays. No, you would have to battle your nemesis in a game of poker, you would have to seduce the Bond Girl or more rather the [Name of your Agent] girl with witty dialogue, withstand being kicked in the nuts by a vicious villain, defuse the bomb with [Matricule Number] seconds remaining.

Of course there would be fights and pursuit and stealth, but it would be a part of the game.

If this game came out, I would be so all over it, that I guarantee that my wife would divorce me in a fortnight

That game is called Alpha Protocol.  It's also pretty naff.

Still haven't bought/played 007 Legends; will think about it once the price drops below £20.

Two/Three years needs to pass in order for a good game to be developed. Activision's eyes should open up on this. They were hoping to make a quick cash-in on the 50th Ann. instead closed down a developing studio and lost money. They need to look at their competitors and think "How can we make a FPS of TPS Bond game that really stands out from all of our competitors games."

They need a better game engine instead of running on a modified GE:R game engine. Hell go with Unreal 3 Engine with DemonWare. Bruce Feirstein needs to go, period. I like Blood Stone, and GoldenEye: Reloaded was okay. Go with a new writing staff, or get someone else that has worked with the films possibly. They need to Take their time making it. I think one of the reasons Blood Stone was so great was because it wasn't rushed and that It was just so fantastic! It's just a shame GoldenEye 2010 overshadowed it and it didn't receive the recognition it needed.

The Raven Software game I feel will never be finished, the game was put on developmental hold So Raven could help Sledgehammer Games and the remaining Infinity Ward employees with Call Of Duty: MW3. The 2013 COD will be developed by Sledgehammer Games and (presumably) Raven. Unless Activision can give the greenlight to Raven to resume progress on their game and finish it, Raven's game will be nothing more than an un-finished game, which is a shame.

Raven's game is finished. My belief is that for all intents and purposes 007 Legends may have killed activision's interest in the franchise. I think the most likely scenario is that activision sells off the Bond license, hopefully to Ubisoft, and we won't get another game for at least 2-4 years.

It's cool, I figured as much. It does look very good, a step up from Blood Stone. Like somewhat of a cross between Blood Stone and Uncharted 3, which is why I think Naughty Dog would make an unbelievable game. Alas, I know that is just a fantasy.

I think that short footage looks good better than 007 legends.......the graphic seem to be better

Correct me if I wrong but Bond games should not  be a shooter game but like Action and adventure genre.......I think the next game should  stealth game. After all Bond is a secret agent/spy so it would not make sense for shoot only.......something like Splinter cell series or metal gear series is what Bond should be....

Yes I think  Ubisoft would be a good choice from looking at youtube video of Splincter cell game, it seem to be more appropriate for Bond than CoD style game.

It probably didn't help, but I don't think Eurocom was doing much for the past few years anyway. As mentioned in the official press release, console gaming is on the decline, so the writing has been on the wall for a while. If anything, Goldeneye only delayed the inevitable.

Considering the sales of Halo and COD, I'd say that more than console gaming on decline, the only reason 007 Legends failed it's because it's a bad game.

I think that's part of it. 007 Legends is a bad game and that's why it failed. It also failed because it was under financed and under marketed. I've seen conflicting stories about the supposed decline of console gaming and I don't think consoles are hurting (sales of consoles are higher than ever), it's the franchises. Companies only create sequels because they know the franchises that sell and will milk them for all they're worth. It's innovation that is on the decline not console gaming.

God your stupid.....................................................................................................................................................................Time for a thicker set of glasses my friend. There wasn't any restrictions except don't copy other bond games that other developers own the right to. Far as I am concerned they have made the weakest bond games possible. I could of made a better bond game with a toilet and some scotch tape. All of there bond games where very linear, repetitive, and not to mention boring with absolutely no replay value what so ever, and to top it over the graphics where S***. Eurocom by far is the worst developer of bond games ever! I am surprised they lasted as long as they did. Nothing but a bunch of money grubbing whores if you ask me.

We didn't.

'bye.

Flippin' eck Ace, that footage from the Raven Bond game looks superb, we needed a 3rd person game like that I reckon for Legends. Wonder if something will ever come of that...probably not, but wishful thinking!
