He seems pleased and surprised that people have not been nasty and generally unkind to him. In fact, he seems a little bamboozled as to why they have not been horrible to him. Odd.

Calis beach and 007- it's a date
Anyone in Turkey at the moment is no doubt fully aware that part of the new James Bond film, Skyfall, is currently being filmed in the country. Proceedings have not been without controversy but our post today is about one of the chosen settings.
Obviously, Istanbul was chosen for part of the filming - why would you choose to film in Turkey and not use Istanbul as a backdrop - but us residents of Fethiye were most intrigued to discover that a little section of the far end of Çalış Beach was also to be used. Apparently, Daniel Craig (James Bond) is going to plunge from the historic bridge in Adana and emerge from the water in Çalış. Well, that's the beauty of film. We can't wait to see how all that is going to work out on the big screen!
[background=rgb(255, 255, 255)]We've been away from Fethiye for just under a week now but, just before we set off for Italy, the Facebook grapevine soon made us aware that the marquees were being erected. Filming was due to begin and we wanted to see what was going on so we set off towards the beach.
Huge marquees had indeed sprung into being, generators were rumbling, lorries were manoeuvring and walkie-talkie-wielding film crew were milling about, occasionally mumbling indecipherables into ther walkie-talkies. We got a couple of photos of the marquees (which we've since found out we weren't supposed to do, but hey...) before going into the Surf Cafe for an Efes Pilsen or two...
The Surf Cafe is being used as a feeding and watering hole for the film crew but we were allowed in for a drink - and to get a photo of the view; a view that is not only of Fethiye from the Surf Cafe but also...maybe...a scene from James Bond. We'll find that out once the film is released.

So, Bond does 'die' by falling off the bridge, after all, then.
I wonder how the yacht fits into this Turkish sequence? Perhaps we see Severine on the deck, then she goes below and Silva's onboard in a cabin and she tells him Bond is dead, or something?

So this storyline fits with 007 Legends ?

From what we've been told about 007 Legends, (Bond in the water, his life flashing before his eyes etc), it does seem like it.

Maybe the PTS starts on the yacht and the rest of it follows on from there? It must feature somewhere in the Turkish scenes, anyway, because of the flag.

The Sun article mentions Bond wearing a tuxedo on the yacht. So, Scene 79 is obviously him travelling to the island after the casino scene.

I think the flag is usually on the boat, but may be taken down for filming.

Admittedly, we may well have seen said boat earlier in Turkish waters, with some plot reason for it being a Turkish vessel.

Ok more specifically. I have a friend off to Istanbul in 2 weeks. Just wondering if they will be wrapped up by than or is it a month shoot?
Skyfall filming in Istanbul will wrap May 5th, according to the road closures schedule provided by Turkish media. The cast and crew will then return to Adana to complete location filming until the end of May, unless the shooting schedule changes.

From a serene boat, to freak storms, to a market shootout, 007 has it all.

Cameo appearance by the Moonraker pigeon, I noticed.
No Turkish flag on the yacht today, either. So, Shrublands was quite right about that.
Although, it was there yesterday, so perhaps there's still a question mark over it?

I think that the flag you see in the picture of the latest clapperboard was intended to show us that they were filming in Turkey. Or maybe it was there with the purpose of misdirection. I wouldn't read too much into it.
My idea is that only the scenes captured at Coca Kalis beach are intended to be featured early in the movie - before or after the opening credits I don't know yet - and the yacht is probably the place where we'll see Bond frolicking with Severine later.
It is also very likely that Coca Kalis will double for a seashore on the Bosphorus, similarly to Adana , which is meant to double for Istanbul's suburbs.
The real question is, to me, why Berenice was seen near the Varda bridge, the logical answer being that maybe she will be on that train...Hard to tell though, I need more info.

Yes, I think you're probably right about that, Luigi. Of course, in reality, the time frame would probably rule out the yacht being in Turkey and China within a few weeks, anyway. Not that logic like that really comes into it in a Bond film.I think that the flag you see in the picture of the latest clapperboard was intended to show us that they were filming in Turkey. Or maybe it was there with the purpose of misdirection. I wouldn't read too much into it.

The Severine thing is interesting, though, isn't it. I think she must be on the train if she's in the PTS. They were filming there with Naomie Harris in the Range Rover at that time, and I don't think we actually heard anything about her being there (apart from her saying she was travelling to Turkey that week), did we? So, it's quite possible Berenice Marlohe was there too, but they just didn't advertise it.

I suppose Javier Bardem must have finished his work on the film now. Assuming this location footage is the last thing they're shooting, that is?
