I hope they manage to bring back plenty of the Fleming/early Connery mystique and atmosphere, with more investigation and curiosity.

Crikey, 3 months of filming for a 10-15 minute sequence? We really take film makers for granted when we watch something like this. That's immense!

Looks like Istanbul is shaping up very well! Great report too, thanks for posting the links guys.

Fascinating really.
Finally an important detail that tells us how the 23rd Bond adventure is supposed to begin:

"Along the way, we kept hearing stories about this massive action scene they were shooting in Istanbul. It would begin at a cafe, evolve into a car chase, one of them would crash in a crowded marketplace, they'd shoot at each other, grab motorcycles, and drive off for another big motorcycle chase all around Istanbul. Eventually they would be driving on the top of the famous Grand Bazaar, a massive covered marketplace, going through it, driving on the roof, crashing in and out of it, eventually driving to the suburbs onto to a train where it would continue."

Ah, you may have cracked it!

For some reason, I'd always imagined the movie opening up onto an Istanbul skyline with a chase already in full swing, but this makes more sense really. Iris opens onto the Istanbul cityscape, we focus in on a cafe, Bond and Eve are having a quiet drink, and suddenly it all kicks off.

James Bond antique dealers in abundance

Film-makers who continue to shoot '007 'James Bond-Skyfall in Adana bought antique and objects from an antique dealers for scenes reflected on the big screen.

Excited to learn of the James Bond 007 film crew arrival , Hoşgör Batuhan said that "the film needs antique furnishings for some scenes in the 1970s , they liked my pictures and they have gone.
A few days later they came and bought the bamboo living set from the 1960s , a radio from the 1950's , bath bowls, crew binoculars, a small brown box, the books published in the 1980s.
They are going to put the scorpion in the coffee box" he said.

Got it. Indeed, I wonder if we'll get thrown right into the chase or if there will be some setting up involving just that.

Sounds like the radio EON got from the dealer could be the one that we heard about in the London underground scenes, when Silva hold's the radio over his head.

I gathered that it was an RC radio, as in controller. But that's just my take on things.

I think so too. I don't think Silva will be rushing around the London Underground carrying an antique radio set.

I wonder if Bond will have his patience tested again in the pre-titles, a nice throwback to 'Casino Royale''s opening operation...

Eve: There's our man. Clean suit, suspicious and evil looking face.

Bond: Hm. I wonder if hitman are insured for that sort of thing.

Eve: He's on the move, driving right towards me.

Bond: Stop touching your ear.

Eve: Sorry?

Bond: Put your hand down!

Patrice ends up crashing the Audi in the market.

Bond: Holster the bloody weapon Eve, I need him alive!

...or something like that! :P

It could be.
Anyway, you have to take into consideration the following elements:
- In the March issue of "Empire" Berenice Marlohe revealed that some of her scenes are in Turkey
- In the cast there's an actor playing the role of a Turkish businessman whose scenes were filmed at Pinewood Studios last December
