Here's the text version of Lucy Cotter's report for Sky News.
http://news.sky.com/...rticle/16220080Daniel Craig: Bond Plot Is For Our Eyes OnlyThe makers of James Bond films are in Istanbul for the final leg of filming for the 23rd chapter in the series - Skyfall - although Daniel Craig has remained tight-lipped about the details.
The lead actor was cagey and vague when talking about the film, but did reveal 007 would be "funny as hell" and that his character would enjoy a "rich" love life.
We weren't supposed to talk to each other because MGM hadn't done the deal. But we couldn't shut up. It was a chance for us to reread the Ian Flemings, and we started e-mailing each other, 'What about this and what about this,' and that's how it snowballed.
But he refused to be drawn on plot details, saying only that he and director Sam Mendes had worked extensively on the script and the character together.
"We had a four year break to concentrate on getting this one as good as possible," he said.
"We've just tried to make the best movie we can. We're both huge Bond Fans, it the 50th anniversary this year and thats a little pressure but a nice pressure to have."
On the Bond set from about 10am are around 500 extras and 300 crew including Craig, plus body doubles and stunt doubles, Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes and Bond girl Naomi Harris.
Under Istanbul's New Mosque, which is actually over 400 years old, the crew re-created the Turkish capital city's famous spice market, complete with stalls, sellers and authentic extras.
I watched as Daniel Craig jumped out of a car driven by the gorgeous Naomi Harris and started a gunfight in the square, sending hundreds of pigeons scattering in panic.
This was a huge burst of excitement, but comes amid the hours of waiting around for those precious movements which make it on screen.
For this 10-minute sequence showing Bond being chased by the bad guys, around three months of filming is done.
Thankfully for producers, 007 is not as popular in Turkey as in many other places around the world and most residents of this bustling city get about their business uninterested in the Hollywood royalty in their midst.
However, the pressure is really on for Skyfall, with the rest of the world watching as the 50th anniversary of the franchise approaches.
It is Daniel Craig's third outing as Bond. His first, Casino Royale, was a huge success, while follow-up Quantum of Solace proved less popular.
The franchise was also shaken when makers MGM filed for bankruptcy last year and the project was left in limbo.
Craig insisted the break had been a good thing as it meant he and Mendes had time to develop the characters and plots.
"We weren't supposed to talk to each other because MGM hadn't done the deal," he said.
"But we couldn't shut up. It was a chance for us to reread the Ian Flemings, and we started e-mailing each other, 'What about this and what about this,' and that's how it snowballed."
Skyfall is due to be released on October 26.
