a) Fethiye is doubling for some Asian location.
the yacht transporting Bond and Severine is nevertheless registered in Turkey, hence the Turkish flag.

Yeah. Bond must be taken to the Japanese/Chinese island onboard the yacht, as Shrublands originally thought.

But Bond's 'death' could also still take place on the same yacht in the PTS.

It's an action sequence featuring Bond and Severine on the yacht in Turkish waters.

How do we know it's an action sequence?

There are stuntmen listed in the character list (Boat Crew - Stunt).

I must say, it's wonderful to see them getting some hot, golden sunshine on location in the streets of Istanbul. Proper scripted locations and getting the real stuff on film. Marvellous.

Some notes from the press conference:

They are tight lipped as ever. Mendes says he's going back to Fleming's original character - he's complex, depressed about job of killing - some of that will be explored. Craig says it's going to be "funny as hell" and his love life will be "rich". No word on 24th Bond movie - producers say "they hope so". Last time they filmed here was 49 years to the day (apparently forgetting THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH) and this was Fleming's favourite city.
