I wonder if this stuff out in the Mediterranean will be standing in for the East China Sea, on the way to Hashima Island from China.

I'd like to think this will be the final scene in the film. The emotional ending is on the rooftop, then smash cut to a beautiful yacht crashing along as Bond and Severine exchange words before disappearing below deck as the credits roll. Happy, classic Bond ending. I'll be shocked if he doesn't get the girl.
It’s bound to be more complex than that, we know that there are 5 people playing members of the crew, including stunt performers.
No, my guess is the means of getting to Hashima Island.

Yeah, it sounds like it.
Although, if it turns out Tonia Sotiropoulou is involved in this part of the shoot, that might change things.
Brilliant work, as ever, Luigi.

1. Bond and his girlfriend on holiday as he recovers from his injuries.
2. Bond and Severine sail to Hashima Island
* hat-tip to Shrublands on the second.

I'm now thinking scenes in Fethiye will feature in two parts of the movie:
1. Bond and his girlfriend on holiday as he recovers from his injuries.
2. Bond and Severine sail to Hashima Island
* hat-tip to Shrublands on the second.
Thinking about it, yes, that sounds very feasible, the beach and other stuff on land would most likely be Turkey. And the scenes with the girlfriend need to fit in somewhere.

I'm thinking that perhaps Bond and Severine are taken on this yacht from Macau to Hashima Island, where they meet Silva. Indeed, perhaps the yacht actually belongs to Silva, and they're taken against their will.

I've just noticed that the link I provided is not the right one. The picture of Daniel Craig can be seen at the following link:

He looks clean shaven there. So this must come after the casino scene, as Shrublands thought.

Nah he's got the stubble. It's just a little hard to see because of the lighting.
That might mean absolutely nothing - give him a day or two off, and he will have the stubbl. Might have been the case here.

My facial hair analysis based on previous guesswork, for all of those keeping score: a couple of days filming with some stubble (not a full beard), and a couple of days clean shaven.
Yeah. Now I come to think about it, Craig would be clean shaven whether this yacht bit is from the PTS or the journey to the Japanese island.
The only time he would have a bit of stubble in Turkey would be in the few days when he's thought to be dead.

I’m now not totally convinced that we were given accurate information about the so called “Hashima Island” set at Pinewood. The reporters were given so much information at that junket and they may not have reported in accurately.
Could they have been told that the outdoor set was based on Hashima Island?
Then, went away and said a recreation of Hashima Island, which is only partially true.
It could very well be that in the story of Skyfall, this place is intended to be somewhere in China – remote and abandoned but you don’t need a boat to get there.

China has a number of its own abandoned cities. But production design might have found more inspiration at Hashima Island, perhaps this set is not even intended to be on an island.

Of course, it might still be set on an island, even if it is in China.
I think the PTS is also still a possibility, though. Mainly because of the location. But also because at some point we were promised the longest PTS in Bond film history.

Ooh, I didn't know that Royal Dalton. Topping the 15-20 minutes for 'The World Is Not Enough' will be easy if they've got a good, meaty story and action piece to get through. I look forward to hearing / seeing more about it!

Aegean town welcomes James Bond film team
Filming for the latest installment of the James Bond movie series, “Skyfall,” has begun in Fethiye in the Aegean province of Muğla.
A team of 1,000 people are in town for the shooting and have erected five tents in an area surrounded by iron fences in Çalış Sörf Café on the Koca Çalış Beach.
Tight security measures have been taken around the area in which the film will be shooting. Security officials have been deployed on a hill overlooking the shooting location. Journalists and photographers were not allowed to enter the area.
Shooting for the film will continue on the Koca Çalış Beach for three days before the team moves to begin filming at the Fethiye Port between April 26 and 28. During filming cars will not be allowed to park on either side of Atatürk Street and in Karagözler neighborhood.
