Aegean town welcomes James Bond film team

Filming for the latest installment of the James Bond movie series, “Skyfall,” has begun in Fethiye in the Aegean province of Muğla.

A team of 1,000 people are in town for the shooting and have erected five tents in an area surrounded by iron fences in Çalış Sörf Café on the Koca Çalış Beach.

Tight security measures have been taken around the area in which the film will be shooting. Security officials have been deployed on a hill overlooking the shooting location. Journalists and photographers were not allowed to enter the area.

Shooting for the film will continue on the Koca Çalış Beach for three days before the team moves to begin filming at the Fethiye Port between April 26 and 28. During filming cars will not be allowed to park on either side of Atatürk Street and in Karagözler neighborhood.

Sounds like something dramatic is going to happen, not just a boat ride.

Today the 2nd unit was filming scenes of the car chase sequence in Istanbul.

Based on what has been reported by the Turkish media, the 1st unit arrived in Fethiye last Sunday. They've been fiming at Koca Çalış Beach during the first mid of this week, then they moved to the Fethiye's pier and gulf today. I've also heard rumours saying that a night shoot was planned for yesterday night.

Thanks! Interestingly, the boat is sporting a Turkish flag. Perhaps an indication on when in the plot it might appear?

You're welcome, Kamran_Shah. I've noticed the Turkish flag too, I was hoping to see some footage in order to better understand where the boat scenes fit in, unfortunately the only video I've found doesn't help much.

If that's the case then they should deliberately leak it. The press would have a fit! "DANIEL CRAIG'S BOND KILLED OFF" "NEW BOND FOR 24? CRAIG KILLED OFF" etc. and when the film comes out they'd have to eat their hats...

It's an action sequence featuring Bond and Severine on the yacht in Turkish waters. As far as I can see, the PTS is the only place it can be.

Bond probably ends up being thrown to the sharks, or something.
