I think we're excited about stock music.
The fact that I don't love it gives me comfort but the idea of us all worked up for something that's possibly very possibly meant to be generic is a very dark, telling thing of the current forum atmosphere.

We do smack of desperation at the moment.

The all point of this very passive-agressive publicity campaign is to get us gagging for it. Good job

So... Newman- and Bond-like?
Damn, I was beginning to be excited how well Newman has adapted the Bond sound to his sensibilities...

And let´s face it - why wouldn´t KLM use a piece of the real score for a page advertising the new Bond film?

Despite the fact the rest of the website has orchestral music on various pages, it strikes me as extremely unlikely that KLM/iFly would commission a special piece of Bondian music for the sole purpose of being used with a Coca-Cola Zero advertising campaign.
It's sooner than I was expecting, but I'm going Newman on this.

Probably one of the best pieces of Bond-like music since the Barry-era.

In all likelihood, it's Coke's music supplied specifically with their flash ad. Lends some credence that it is, in fact, Newman's - if only because of their history using licensed Bond tunes (ahem, AWTD) in these ads.
Also, we're sort of ignoring the fact that the score barely finished recording all that long ago. Would they really have mixed tracks ready at this point to give to the advertising partners?

Not if this is a digitally created version that preceded the orchestral recording, as someone in this thread already suggested.
I don't take any firm position either way, but I would be more surprised to learn that this came from an advertiser's music library than I would be to learn that it was the work of a Bond composer, if not Newman then perhaps something left over from Arnold. It seems too specifically Bondian to be a generic piece of agency music. And the length of the piece (approx. 1:30) marks it as a track from an OST.

Nothing wrong with sounding like Arnold in my opinion.
Considering most of us have been wanting to hear a fresh musical voice for SKYFALL, for it end up getting an Arnold-lite score, would be odd to say the least.
Like selling one's house to move next door.

It was just one little piece that sounded slightley Arnold-esque, not that the whole soundtrack will be the same.

Dark, telling? Please...
At the end of the day, it's a strong piece of Bond flavoured music regardless of its source. I'm not going to back peddle if it is revealed to be stock music from a workmen like composer for an advertising campaign.

Don´t know if someone has said it, but someone else eslewhere, who is believed to be working in post prod for SF, said it isn´t from the film, nor from Newman. I believe this person to be legit as he has been talking to Col. Sun in a fairly honest way down in another board, and we all know Col. Sun to be legit. Anyway, take this recording with a pinch of salt guys. Cheers.
Which other board?

According to the Amazon, the CD will now be released on Monday 29th, a few days after the film opens nationwide...

If you are talking about Mr Eon over at MI6 - I don't believe he is a legit insider. He's been dropping hints that he is for months with the subtlety of brick through a plate glass window.
Yet there has been a number of quite basic things that he did not know.

Bad news : the release of composer Thomas Newman's "Skyfall" soundtrack has been delayed by a week...

To be honest, this is probably good news in my case. The problem with releasing the score before the film is that I struggle to resist listening to it. I'd be curious to know why the release date has been pushed back a week though!

Really? Well, can´t really be surprised. I spend more time here than anywhere else so I get to know you guys better than the other fellas. I hope the Col. is aware of that, being that he is, in fact, legit. Thanks for the heads up Shrubs. Cheers

To avoid major plot spoilers being revealed in the track listings? That's what's being suggested on the MI6 website. For example, the CR soundtrack was released before the film and included the track "Death Of Vesper", although anyone who had read CR the novel knew that, short of a major re-write of the story, she was doomed anyway.

No offence intended! The bulldog seen on M's desk is just one of my running jokes.
