I think that's highly likely.I'd tend to believe Rich if he's identified a specific library sample, though. Which would be strikingly odd, if it were used in the final score.
Is it at all possible Newman produced an entirely digital/synth version of the score before recording it with an orchestra, and they've used one of his demo tracks for the advert? I seem to recall a QOS blog featuring Arnold doing the same thing.

Yes, that springs to mind. It'd be odd that a sponsor would have got hold of that, but sometimes funny things happen.

I hope so, anyway. I can picture Bond driving into Shanghai with that track playing.
The flutey bit's rather similar to parts of James Newton Howard's score for The Fugitive. Which is nice.

And Thomas Newman's THE PLAYER.

Absolutely agreed. It feels refreshing and light. Whether or not it's from the movie, I like it.Wow, I certainly hope this is a snippet of Newman's score because it certainly feels "right" - with a perfect combination of mood and texture that gives it the modern feel of a classic Bond.

Sounds a bit too much like Arnold for me.
Though I am not the musical connoisseur like you Sharky and can only resort to the mere colorful adjectives in my repertoire, I know what you're saying. It's everything I would expect from Arnold. Down to the synthetic sounds in the back with horns punctuating all over the place. Then throw on repeat.
Take a deep breath though. If this is it, it's only a small snippet.

Whatever it is, even if it's solely for the add, I think it sounds pretty good.
Yes, I agree.

You know, we could always contact iFly Magazine and ask them what the music is. i.e. the logical thing.

I can't stop listening to this loop...I am more convinced than ever that it's legit..It's EXACTLY the tone that I was hoping Newman was going for..
Exactly what I was thinking, It sounds like Newman enough to be true.

I'm sure it is from Newman's score. Even if it's a temp version.

I could definitely see that. It sort of reminds me of "I'm the Money" from Casino Royale.

Hit the left and right arrows to see what I'm talking about.
Edit: Yeah, I'm certain of it now. It's not composed by Thomas Newman, but the kind folks at Royal Dutch Airlines. By the way, this time-shift photography is pretty spectacular:

And the string part... haunting. This sounds like classic Bond with a modern edge.
