Just the sort of cosy pad to take the latest Bond girl back to, if she happens to be the bride of Frankenstein.

By the way, the flat in London at the start of Dr No is Bond’s flat – obviously.

so do you think it would be to DAD or corny to feature an espresso machine from LALD and a set of golf clubs from in DR, in the background?

As long as they're not drawn attention to (i.e. Easter Eggs), no.

Danke' German Lady!

Great stuff. I've decided one idea, probably bandied about somewhere, but I blieve the PTS sequence is Bond stalking this assassin in Shanghai which results in a car chase. He's stopped the assassination, but the bad guy gets away and Bond is pulled out. When he returns to London, he's picked up and the briefed (ala' TND) on M's situation and then the mayhem unfolds. Hence those early pics of Bond looking disheveled riding in the Rover. He's jet-lagged and pissed off that he didn't catch the baddie and now this fresh Hell of M's stale Hell is going on.

P.S. : I too hope we get a glimpse of the Flat.

I always thought it was a hotel room in Dr. No.

well there is this article i read that suggests that it is Bonds apartment in DR and he does stop to look at his mail. so maybe it was.
http://doubleonothin...onds-apartment/

It is def Bond's apartment in Dr. No. After the briefing from M he returns home to get ready for his flight. He lives in London, so he would not be staying in a hotel.

Golf clubs and a good quality coffee machine are the sort of things Bond would own, so seeing them in his flat would be fine. Just so long as the point isn’t laboured.

Oh thanks for this. I did read somewhere that there was a scene on a large Yacht. It does look like they're on the sea. Scene 165 as well.

Night exterior. Scene 165.
So towards the end of the Scottish climax, I’d say.
Is that an ice covered loch with an explosion in the distance?
I think this could be another connection with unused Goldeneye material.

I thought it was a nice sunset over some sort of frozen lake too, or a very icy moor?

Looks very nice though....!

My first thought was that it was snow with trees in the background. After reading the post about the Land Rover Defender in the "Skyfall' Filming Discussion" thread, I'm speculating its a chase scene.

Dawn cresting following the final action sequence?

This is a good one.

Reposting my reply from the other thread here, as the discussion seems to be permeating across different threads:

My new theory, and one I'm settling on, is that it's a model shot looking across a Scottish Highland landscape and/or frozen loch towards a burning manor house.

The light appears to be a bit too uneven and strobing too much for a sunset/sunrise, plus the scene's details suggest it's set at night. I think this could be the concluding shot of a fiery final action set piece.

I'll put this here too.

Yes, my assumption is - this is a model to be used in the Scottish sequence. Possibly a very large mock-up at Pinewood. The reason for building it in the studio, is that it’s part of an action sequence that would be almost impossibly dangerous to stage on a real frozen loch and would require specific weather conditions. All of which has made them create an artificial environment.

Ohh. Now I see what you're getting at. That's a BIG fire/explosion if that's the case. Could be.

I think that the Land Rover stunt sequence involving the Agent Eve is expected to shoot in Turkey. The modified Land Rovers were seen at Royal Portbury Docks heading to Turkey the 23rd January.
http://www.westonsup...tail/story.html
In addition Naomie Harris has said during the Baftas that she has a tough stunt scene scheduled in the next weeks, so it is likely she was referring to that .

If that is an icy moor, and they are finally using previously discarded GoldenEye material, we ought to hear something about a seaplane over the moor/loch some time in the future...

Whatever it is, it's further proof that SKYFALL is going to have a stunning visual look. I know there's the conspiracy theory that Babs desperately wants an Oscar for Bond and employs people accordingly, but when you look at pictures like this, an award for Deakins does not seem to be out of the question at all.

Neither, but looking at the quality of the photos, wouldn't it be an incredibly impressive achievement if he did?

Anyway, looking at the latest photo, my first thought was an explosion. But that seems unrealistic, given that this is a shot of a clapperboard. So sunset seems to be the most-likely candidate.

I also wouldn't be too quick to dismiss the theory that this is a yacht, either. If this photo is set on water, then that thick line running through the image could very well be a breakwall. If EON have already booked the yacht for shooting in Turkey, then they would know exactly what it looks like, and could no doubt create a replica of it for shooting - especially if they were on some kind of reservoir rather than open waters.

Looks like a fire to me. They could have burned the manor set today to the ground. Would take a long time to burn, enough for a pic right? Besides, if you mess with the image contrast you´ll see somewhat of a curious light dispersion. Still, maybe it is just the sun. Don´t think it´s an awesome picture though, anyone can take a pic like that while facing a light source that huge.

It's main unit, not a model unit shoot, but I'd guess that is a blazing fire in the distance across moorland.

It's a night shot so I'm of the thought that they're waiting for the sun to go down.

I'm going by what I was taught in screenwriting here. And it was taught by a wash-out that the industry couldn't stand. But we always wrote scenes based on the space they were in; if a shot involed a character walking out of a room, down a hallway and into another room, then that would count as three separate scenes within the script (though this is a very simplified example). One of the girls in my class wanted to write a scene for her script that involved two characters outside at sunset, and she didn't know whether the script should call for it to be set during daylight or at night. Because most of the scene took place once the sun had actually set, she was told that she should list it at a night scene.

But, like I said, this class was taught by a failed screenwriter. He might have been wrong.

Hey there, a screenwriter can actually use, for example -- EXT: FIELD - SUNSET -- or EXT: FIELD - DUSK
and that's fine for the production when they break the script down and schedule scenes etc.

I remember 'Casino Royale' got lots of notice at the UK British Academy for Film and Television Awards (BAFTAs) when it came out, for acting and film-making, so I hope that 'Skyfall' will get the same recognition if we truly see and very well made, beautifully shot and intense British film!
