It's beginning to annoy me, actually.
Me too, I mean seriously, what the hell is going on?

Yeah, but to be fair, it´s always the same car with the same people in it. So I´m guessing it´s quite the elaborate piece. Maybe it´s a character driven - in movement sort of thing and Mendes has to get it right. The logistic of it all will probably shine on screen.More scenes in cars...

I guess so... but I mean a little break from cars would be nice.

Are you nuts? This is how films are made. The Devil is in the detail. It takes time and great skill, creatively and technically, to make a film.
Sir, get up to speed.

I know in great detail how films are made, it's just annoying, that's all. I guess I'm just overreacting now that I look back on my comment.

Be that as it may, this is the most boring build-up to a Bond film in some years. I know Mendes wants to keep a lid on things in terms of plot etc, but we're really scraping the barrel with these clapperboards, constant pics of M and Bond in cars etc.
It makes me wonder if between now and whenever the teaser trailer comes out (i'm guessing April) whether we'll even get a second official pic- if you don't count the pool one- or ANYTHING remotely interesting.

At least, they have sunshine. Its crazy how long it takes for scenes to be shot, that will probably be just a few minutes in the movie. But we should not forget, that they film at PW, too, often at the same time.
They do have a 2nd unit going, but that does not mean they shoot double units all the time like you suggest i.e. while they shoot in London they are also filming at Pinewood.
The reason why the London scenes seem to be going on for so long is that they can only close major roads, bridges etc. at the weekends or later at night, so that means it is more difficult for them to schedule to shoot an entire sequence over a number of continuous days as they would normally try to do.

My theory is, that Bond escapes the burning manor, then ends up at a nearby frozen lake. The lake stuff shot elsewhere (possibly some at the Pinewood tank).

I should think the bit with the manor house being destroyed will mostly be done as a model effect.
Obviously, there are going to be some full-size explosions taking place, though. You can see some of the cutaways on the facade they're building.

Really wish they could leave it up as something of a tourist attraction once they're done, but alas, they've got to take it down as soon as filming wraps. :-(
