It could be, but there are eight coffins at the funeral. So unless he's playing identical octuplets, I don't think it's him.

Besides, his character description is that he is a representative of the Foreign Office who has amassed a lot of political power and effectively serves as M's boss. The funeral scene is some time around the scene ~35 mark, so they'd be killing Finney off very early on if this is his funeral. I think the funeral will be important to Finney's character - it could well be the event that sets his gaze on M and her performance.

At least one of those coffins has an MP in it. Nothing else would account for the flags and the massive official repercussions. What would motivate the government more strongly than straight-up self-preservation? "If they can kill the honourable member from Bumsex North, they can kill any one of us!" And I doubt if these are the only victims of a targeted calamity - they're probably just the most prominent of scores (or hundreds) of casualties.

I still like the idea of the victims having been targeted in the attack - it opens up far more story possibilities.

I'm not saying they weren't. I merely think it's unlikely that they were all killed separately, like at the end of The Godfather, and subsequently gathered together for a common funeral. I mean, why would that ever happen? It seems likelier that they are the notable victims of a single, public catastrophe. Like back in the eighties when some real-life Bond villain - I think it was Pablo Escobar - blew up a jumbo jet just to kill a couple of people who happened to be onboard. I imagine that this attack will be something along those lines - an assassination that doubles as an act of mass terrorism.

It seems that the images are coming from EON rather than from MI6. MI6 are simply reposting what they are given, and while they appear to have been promised new images, EON are in the process of making a film. They don't have the time to get online and see what has and has not been posted.

The images will be coming from the very well organised and coordinated Eon/Sony/MGM publicity departments.
It’s not something Sam Mendes or Babs does when she has a free five minutes.

(And I very much doubt they will only be going to MI6 – they’re just the only ones who’ve tipped the wink, as it were)

Very unfortunate that. But me, Germanlady, some others and someone named Shadowsomething have eyes in all forums, right Sha...Captain? The only forum I could n´t stand being for more than 10 min was Bond and Beyond, or something like that. I´ve been following MI6 and ajb007 (and at one point, IFF) for years now, although to be fair, Cbn is my home That being said, JamesPage is usually quite the reliable fellow, albeith very secretive.

(Frankly, I'd put far more money on it being the poster, given how relatively early they are in shooting and how this is typically "poster time". Then again, he specifically said pics plural)...

Friday seems to be EON/Sony's day for releasing stuff thus far. I shall groundlessly anticipate that.
