Interesting. Ascot appears to be in the film both as Royal Ascot and as Shanghai airport. Unless this is jsut the cameras being set up before the set is re-decorated.

They were filming at Ascot Racecourse from 9 am to around 12 pm ( if I remember correctly), so it's plausible that they've filmed more scenes there,not only the ones set at Shanghai International Airport which were night shots.
Plus, consider the fact that as far as we know not only chinese extras were involved in the shooting at Ascot Racecourse.

Got the new issue of Empire magazine today.

They've got an incredibly short preview which gives absolutely nothing away (not surprising after THAT press conference). However, the caption to the photo, which is new/not-been-seen-by-us-CBN'ers, says: "Sam Mendes rehearses a scene where M intercepts some covert terrorist comms"

Also a quote from MGW confirming they've "cut loose from the Vesper/Quantum arc of the last two films". Just in case any of you thought Quantum might pop up in some shape or form.

I think it is likely that the second unit was filming there yesterday. I have a clue that indicates that they could probably have been filming Skyfall, but I'm not going to post it on the forum because I may be wrong. So it's best to consider it only as a rumor at this moment.

Hmmm, maybe Bond catches the train at "Temple"/Charing Cross and rides it to Ascot.

We know that there is an underground bunker in London that gets used by MI6 personnel and possibly the government. What if there is a second bunker at Ascot raceway? It is only six miles from Ascot to Windsor Castle, and it makes sense that if London came under attack, ensuring the safety of the Royal Family would be of high priority. If the Royal Family were at Windsor Castle at the time of the attack, they would naturally be escorted to Ascot. Though I doubt we will see members of the Royal Family in SKYFALL.

Instead, I could see M realising that the attacks are connected to "Skyfall", and so sends Bond to the Ascot bunker. The Ascot bunker would be outdated, or replaced by a newer bunker somewhere else. With a perfectly secure bunker just lying around unused, M uses Ascot as an archive for all the old MI6 files, a place where secrets are send to make sure they stay secret, because destroying them would raise too many questions. M sends Bond to Ascot to retrieve files related to "Skyfall".

And the second photo just says it is filming at Ascot station, not Bond filming. And that’s what I belive this to be… just some filming there …sorry.

I think you're right Shrublands, I did some research on Twitter and it seems like they were filming a new drama called Case Sensitive at Ascot Train Station yesterday.

They only thank "ShadaowOnTheSun" for the alert and that was posting a link to the above photo, it seems.

I 've never seen it before. It's a pity that we cannot see clearly the background because of the photomontage. However there is an arch behind 007, so it could possibly be the same set in which we see M sitting at the desk. But it's hard to tell for sure.

You're right, nobody has never seen 007 wearing that suit in QoS. Infact that was supposed to belong to the deleted ending of QoS. As I've previously stated ,I've seen that picture 3 years ago but, after the forum has been updated, I'm not able to upload pictures anymore.
