Apart from the fact that 'solace' means comfort. A secret, deadly organisation called Comfort? Might as well call it Cute and Cuddly.
I think it adds quite a bit of sinister irony.

I'm hoping for the best. But I have a sneaking suspicion this film is going to be a steaming pile of crap.
Same here. I'm picturing a cross between THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH and QUANTUM OF SOLACE, but, hey, who knows?
Since I regard QOS as the best Bond movie since TSWLM (if not OHMSS) and TWINE as a hugely underrated and interesting near-miss, that wouldn't bother me at all. But given that Craig, EON et al seem to be determined to redress the percieved failure of the previous film and that they keep name-checking CR, I doubt that's what we're going to get. I think they're attempting something like a refinement of the classic Bond formula, closer to Craig's first outing but without the charcter arc for the main character or the occasional moments that didn't work.
And at this stage, none of us know if it's gonna be any good or not.

Bond 23 will not have a dumb name titled SKYFALL.
Bond 23 will not have a dumb name like Skyfall.*

Bond 23 will have an awesome name titled SKYFALL.
Bond 23 will have an awesome name like Skyfall.*
I agree with both of these statements not skyfall hasn't reached awesome yet but it's definitly better then the 2 orignal titles of the brosnan era

did you not see my edit? It's the same statement, the first one was just very badly worded.
I have accepted Bond 23 is Skyfall (though if this is misdirection congrats Eon/sony you dupped me and several others) and it's not a bad title it's better then red sky at night and the 2 Brosnan titles.

Very subtle. I remember when misquoting people's posts was frowned upon. Simpler times.did you not see my edit?

“BOND 23” (aka “SKYFALL”)
I don't think it's a big secret that the title of the film is Skyfall among people working on and around the film.
It also shows locations as "Pinewood Studios - Istanbul" and cast as "Daniel Craig - Judi Dench - Naomie Harris - Javier Bardem - Ralph Fiennes - Berenice Marlohe".

It could shoot under the name SKYFALL. It's a common strategy with major pictures; THE DARK KNIGHT was shooting under the name RORY'S FIRST KISS to deter curious onlookers from getting too close. It could be that only a handful of people - Babs, MGW, Mendes, etc. - know the actual title and they won't actually release it until the film is released. Why would it please the producers to have the project known by a fake name solely during a one-month period before the start of filming?

Hmmm. (It's only a secret when THERE IS no title).
Wasn't the name of the next movie listed in the end credits of every film up until 19??.
Looks like "SKYFALL" is it.
Let the gunbarrel debates begin!

Yes they are.Why would it please the producers to have the project known by a fake name solely during a one-month period before the start of filming? I don't think EON are nearly as tricky or secretive as they're given credit for.
But they actually have greater things to take up their time than false titles and red herrings.

Unlikely; it's never happened before; and Bond doesn't really get the bother from fans that Batman does. I saw signs up for Casino Royale when that was shooting around here. And if everyone knows it as 'Skyfall' how would that stop people from bothering them? Why set up web addresses with 'James Bond' and 'Skyfall' in them if you don't want people to know it's Bond?
I can't see any reason not to think it's called Skyfall.

I can't think of any valid reason, either. I was just trying to come up with a scenario where it might happen.Unlikely; it's never happened before; and Bond doesn't really get the bother from fans that Batman does. Somebody's been on IMdB.
your point being
one of Moonraker's potential titles is Out of the Sky perhaps Skyfall was one of them too?

About all of which wraps up the press conference as I am sure there will be very little other information excepting locations given out during this event.I've seen a document distributed among industry professionals giving contact info, etc., on upcoming movies. I won't give out Eon's phone number, but I will say the listing for Bond 23 says...
“BOND 23” (aka “SKYFALL”)
It also shows locations as "Pinewood Studios - Istanbul" and cast as "Daniel Craig - Judi Dench - Naomie Harris - Javier Bardem - Ralph Fiennes - Berenice Marlohe".
Maybe a logo.
Maybe a poster.

You were on IMdB. It's well-known just how unreliable that site can be.your point being
The full lsit of known working titles for MOONRAKER included the following:one of Moonraker's potential titles is Out of the Sky perhaps Skyfall was one of them too?
- "The Infernal Machine"
- "The Inhuman Element"
- "Wide of the Mark"
- "The Moonraker Sense"
- "The Moonraker Plan"
- "Bond & The Moonraker"
- "Mondays are Hell"
- "Hell is Here"
- "The Moonraker"
- "The Moonraker Plot"
- "The Moonraker Secret"
- "Out of the Clear Sky"
- "Too Hot to Handle"
Of all the novels, Moonraker had the most working titles, and they are well-documented. I find it very strange that Fleming had a secret notebook of some kind with an unheard-of working title for MOONRAKER in it. No, I think IMdB has seen "Out of the Clear Sky" as a working title, and derived "Skyfall" from it.

I'm happy to accept that Skyfall is the title. Sounds better than QOS, it's short and connotes something world-ending.
And that's what Bond's job is, isn't it? To save the world?

I'm also very pleased that it seems we have both Bardem and Fiennes.
My guess is, however, that with this director and cast the film will be much less traditional than people might hope.

DANIEL CRAIG AS IAN FLEMING'S JAMES BOND 007 IN
SHATTERHAND
..which is what I prefer and a bit more hard hitting than Skyfall.
Shatterhand.com is registered to somebody though I don't know who and it just comes up with a black screen.
