Likely the way they'll move with it, forward not backward. So the screenwriter of Gladiator, The Last Samurai, The Aviator, and Hugo Cabret is probably brought on to add depth and structure to what ever plot Purvis & Wade have concocted. This guy has worked with Scorsese, is Oscar nominated, and has a past with Mendes. I sure am conflicted, I want to believe, but I sure smell more Quantum than Royale.
23 won't have the revenge storyline QOS did, that should take care of fanboy concerns.

By the way, I liked NEMESIS.

No kidding. Same here. Are we Bond fans psychically linked to EON or something?Let the record show that I started coming around again before this broke.
Agreed, where CR left "revenge" as the obvious thread to pick up in the next one, QOS left "unravel Quantum". Whether they choose to go down that route remains to be seen, but it's the only way to go if they're about continuity. And "unraveling shadowy organizations" can easily leave us with something on the order of Thunderball or The Spy Who Loved Me, which would be fine by me.Likely the way they'll move with it, forward not backward.

Yup - just a hunch, but I bet Greene told Bond a lot more about Quantum than where to find that shmuck in Russia. No kidding. Same here. Are we Bond fans psychically linked to EON or something?

But his spirit is all over the films to this day. Of course it will be an ALBERT R BROCCOLI'S EON PRODUCTIONS PRESENTS effort. As it should.I hope they finally get rid of the "Albert R. Broccoli's EON Productions" credit, since he's been dead now for over a decade.
A few more uncredited writers, I would imagine. So what do you think John Logan and Sam Mendes will bring to bond 23?
Most people weren't "mentioned". Wouldn't read anything into it.Something dawned on me my 9th time reading the press release no metion of Dame Judi Dench is it possible that she isn't returning?
No. There is a third aroma about this one... the new fragrance from Eon... *** ****** ** * **** *** (i.e. the next film). So the screenwriter of Gladiator, The Last Samurai, The Aviator, and Hugo Cabret is probably brought on to add depth and structure to what ever plot Purvis & Wade have concocted. The official excitement build-up is now under way!
Even if 2012 seems far distant, it's actually quite good to have to wait some time; the pleasure is in anticipating...

Can it be beyond the whit of EONs talents, and the millions invested in those creative talents, that, after all this time they can't anounce the damn TITLE with the press release!!!!!
If they use a Fleming-related title it might split the fans. Some'll be writing about it even when the film's been out ten years and Craig's no longer their flavour of the month. But will it effect the general audience and the box office? Did QOS lose a few mill because the general public couldn't understand Michael Wilson's cack-handedly attached explanation of it? If QOS lost a few mill at all it was for reasons far more significant than the bloody title.
And if EON had given a Brosnan-style lives/dies/never type monica, the general audience won't give a . How many multiplex crowds saw DAD thinking they were on to a loser because of the title, nor when they had seen it, that a different title might have made the crucial difference to their enjoyment? As for the fanboys, well...
So come one, EON, show us some of the end product of your time, money, diligence and talents.
It's only a few little words. Or less, even.

A date, a casting, a title ... All keeps the interest going over what will be a period of two years.
I really don't need to know anything else right now, is my opinion.

So what's the word on Logan? Should we be excited about his contribution?
I think it's interesting, potentially good news. He may not be quite as prestigious as Peter Morngan, but he's versatile having written everything from a movie where Lou Diamond Phillips fights Bats, to a look at the making of Citizen Kane, to an animated Sinbad movie and a Howard Huges biopic. I can easily see him having a good Bond movie in him
Here's food for thought; the gap between Bond 23 and QOS will have been as long as the gap between DAD and CR

This is a reason to celebrate.
For everything else there will be enough time in the next two years.

Weird indeed.

And when the film is in the can, it will be the longest gap between films with the same actor playing Bond. Here's food for thought; the gap between Bond 23 and QOS will have been as long as the gap between DAD and CR

I don't blame Logan for the bad attempts at humor in Nemesis; anyone who knows Trek knows that "funny" isn't traditionally its strong suit.

I, for one, hope to continue having great dry Bondian humor from Mr. Logan, as Dan can do it so note-perfectly well. I'm certainly open to a pun or two, used sparingly and effectively like saffron, just to keep things bright and fun.
Indeed, a bit of humour never does anyone any harm. I personally thought that the "We are teachers on sabbatical...and we have just won the lottery" in Quantum Of Solace was one of the funniest lines in the series. More of the same is fine by me!

The "humour" in the film prior to Nemesis was even worse, so yeah, I wont blame him for that

It's a solid enough line. Just personally wouldn't put it up there. Each to his own of course...
Of course.
