I've got faith in Deaver to make a successful Bond novel. I just wish he would do more than just one.

I share this faith, although I am happy with the one book. He does not need to do another. Leave them wanting more. Look at Sex and the City 2, should have left it alone after the first film........

Hey, if Deaver does a good job, I'm all for him coming back and doing another. It wouldn't be until 2014 or so. Plenty of time for him to work up a new idea and the passion for another. Besides, most of the continuation authors got better as they went along.

You haven't seen Sex and the City 2 have you Zencat. Trust me, it's a good example. B)

I cant imagine he would have the time for a 2nd. If he does though well, fair play because one would hope it's been a success.

Well Dan the one Reason I want Deaver to do more then one Is I'm extremly curious about this bond world where he is born in the early 80's what he is Like who are his villians and what does the secret dark world of espionage hold in present-the future.

If Deaver does leave I fear IFP won't continue.

though if they do with a new author I suggest American Brad Meltzer.

Honestly though who do you want to write X-Bond 2

You paying attention here, Quantum? It's been pretty clear this is a multi-author series.

Higson, Charlie Higson. There is no substitute.

Wait I thought it was rumoured It's been confirmed

So Who should write Xbond 2.

Many here love Charlie Higson but Can he do Bond born in 1980 and in the preasent novel?

BRad Meltzer is a great thriller writer and could do an amazing Job. I'm Aslo interested in Andy Mcdermmont he's British and I'm looking foward to read Hercules Tomb by him. the Plot is interesting enough I'll let you know how he does.

And Zen you know me better then that I always think with my heart not my head

Oh, I'd definitely be behind McDermott writing X2 - he knows how to plot an enjoyable action romp and he'd be a change of pace to both Deaver and to Fleming.

Well, that a good point. It hasn't been officially confirmed by IFP, has it? But Deaver has alluded to the fact that other authors would be picking up from his book, so...

Good point about From Russia with love Zencat.

Good point about Charlie Higson taking on New Bond. Not sure it is his cup of tea? Just might be better for him to keep Bond in the Fleming time frame.

I think Charlie would love to do an adult Bond (no matter the time frame) and would knock it out of the park. He's said in interviews that he'd like to do it. And he has written adult thrillers. He must do an XBond novel at some point. He must!

I bet it has already been done and dusted that Charlie Higson will do adult Bond. He is part of the IFP family, you never leave the family.

You know, I just noticed the main page still has featured Devil May Care and QOS links. They've been on that island a loooong time.

How about Project X, Bond 23, and GoldenEye links up there instead. I'll throw out the idea.

The one on the Project X website is counting down to May 28, 2011 but Deaver has said that the actual release could come a few days before or a few days after.
