I wouldn't be surprised, the reviews for his portrayal of Ross Poldark are positive and he does seem a hit with the ladies.

Though, I'd suggest a trip to the barbers first...

Aiden is great in the role. He has a great brooding quality without coming across as angry or petulant. Dear God no to Jamie Dornan, he has no charisma. I'm still with Chris Hemsworth and Henry Cavill. But leaning heavily towards Hemsworth. He's classically handsome yet still very masculine.  I

Aidan Turner would be brilliant. Never would've thought of him for it, but now it's been mentioned, that's genius!

His pictures do not do him justice. Just watch him on Poldark he smolders. I am a huge Batman fan and after watching him in the first five minutes on Poldark I thought that he would be a great Batman/Bruce Wayne. He's very Byronesque.

Don't worry, know who he is. I agree strongly, I've adored his performances since seeing him as Mitchell in Being Human (was either 08 or 09) so I'd love to see him take on the role.

I think Armie Hammer is just teasing the interviewer. I gather that Bond has been the first thing said to Henry Cavill in EVERY interview he's done for The Man from UNCLE

Who was it who mentioned Jack O'Connell ("Unbroken")?  A bit young still, may be a bit young depending on when the next actor begins, but the more I think about it, the more I think he's an under-the-radar possibility.  It'll depend on when Craig's last one is -- right now I'm guessing he ends after #5 in 2018 at the age of 50 -- and Bond 7 starts around 2021-2022, unless there's a delay on account of the screen rights or distributor's financial solvency.

Which would make Jack O'Connell 32 by then, and not a bad age to play Bond. But of course alot can happen between now and 2021 and so the next 007 actor might be someone we've yet to hear about.

Cavill's commitment to Superman effectively takes him out of the running, but after seeing The Man from U.N.C.L.E., which was the first time I ever liked Cavill in a role, I have to say he'd probably have made a very good Bond.

Every Bond actor since Lazenby had 10+ years of film or TV experience before being cast as Bond. And no wonder. If you're a producer who needs a talented, reliable actor to anchor your billion-dollar film franchise for the next ten years, you don't hold a cattle call and sign an unknown with no credits. Whoever the next Bond actor turns out to be, he's probably already a notable screen actor whose name and face are familiar to many of us.

Cavill could do it. They were, I believe, fairly impressed with his audition. He was a bit too young then. Now, he has the curriculum for it. Never mind the Supes business. Although he´ll have to loose some muscle. He´s getting borderline ridiculous.

His commitment to other franchises reminds me of Pierce and the Steele affair. In a lower scale of things, of course - or is that the other way around?

Besides, the guy has to use his own accent on something right?

It is possible some one not well known could be picked.

I also agree that Aidan Turner would be a great choice for Bond. He is 32 right now so he would be in his mid-to-late thirties when he would take over the role, assuming that Spectre is either Craig's last or second-to-last outing as Bond. I thought that Turner looked the part of Bond when I saw him on Being Human and the Hobbit films. Having seen Poldark, I think that he can act the part as well.

Perhaps not known right now, but it won't be a complete unknown when the transition comes. The next Bond will be better known than Craig was in 2005. Incredible as it may have seemed a decade ago, the franchise has grown - commercially and critically.

Quick,... someone please find out if David James Gandy can act. If not send him to acting school. He could be the perfect Bond. Looks like the illegitimate son of Sir Sean and Timothy Dalton.

With Superman being placed on "indefinite hiatus" It could free Cavil up for Bond. If it's offered to him I'm hoping Henry accepts, Batman V. Superman doesn't look promising (considering it's heavily based on Dark Knight Returns and heavily biased towards Batman) I think Cavil could be a great successor to Daniel.

However, The Idris Elba thing won't go away...

Don't get me wrong, Idris is a fantastic actor, I really do enjoy his roles, but his portrayal of Bond would be a code name to me at least.

A "Man of Steel" sequel may be on hiatus but it's safe to say that "Batman vs. Superman" will be successful enough that it will greenlight the "Justice League" movie that will follow.

Fassbender is still my guy.

If they ever did a HBO-style high quality period television series based on very close delivery of the Felming novels I think Fassbender would be perfect. But maybe not for the cinematic EON Bonds.

I think Hardy would want to do it, watch him trying to move off discussing it in case it hurts his chances.

Hardy and Fassbender would still be my top two

If the films are to continue in the same style as now, then we need a Bond actor who one can imagine as a villain as much as a hero. Daniel Craig passed this test, and I think Tom Hardy would (you get two real life villains played by Hardy for the price of one in his new movie!)

Whether he would do it or not is anyone's guess.

Interesting point of view.. But which villain role did Craig play ?
Seems like every other candidate is involved with either DC hero or Marvel .. We need the next bond to be fresh ..
