Well, I had something more sociable in mind.
Say, why don't we feast like there's no tomorrow?

Funny, but when I'm stared at, I tend to lose my appetite.

Isn't there something May Day could be doing in the kitchen?

Sorry for the radio silence. The batteries went in it two weeks ago and no-one noticed.

And apologies too for the disruption over these last few weeks. Neon Pictures have been shooting their new James British film in our front lobby. As every other gentleman's club in London has been used as a location for this new SKIFFLE THE MOVIE, it was naturally our turn to be featured on the clapperboard hall of fame. The production company has promised to restore the front lobby to its former glory, so for now can we leave our coats near the hand-dryer in the lavs?

Talking of which, if one has had too many Vodka-Martini & Blacks and has - well - exploited the good will of our toilet cleaners could they please pop some loose change in the Michael Lonsdale charity box? There is nothing worse than seeing a pile of Vodka-Martini coloured vomit in the cubicle when you are wanting to heave up an excess of Stella McCartney lager at the end of happy hour.

Anyway, this week is Cribbage Week so make sure you pay your subs.

Oh dear, oh dear ! And here I was, thinking this was a respectable place.
Could you kindly show the disruptive elements the way to the nearest pub?

I usually prefer ex-servicemen clubs like the Broken Feather or the Winged Dagger to an ex-spook's or gentlemen's club like this one but what the heck, if its green slime I'm to have then green slime it'll have to be.

Beer anyone?

Or would that be bubbly and Scotch all around considering the fuss they're making over what's 'is name ordering a beer in SKYFALL?

Oooooohhh. Can't have that, can we. What would dear Ian think then?????

Ah, well, the name's Fawkes by the way.

I've been away lately but hopefully I'm back to stay a while so I thought I'd try me luck round here and see what comes.

Hope I'm not gatecrashing.

Ah thank you, finally my good old Scotch and Soda.

Cheers all ;-)

Harry, long time no see! Here's to you!

Glad the business with the moviefolk is sorted. I know it's only blancs, but the floors were littered with brass nonetheless and you can ask anybody in Jermyn Street, such stuff is murder for the soles. One of their sfx-thingies went missing during the happy hour at the bar and the tender received a stiff complaint about an explosively strong Zombie he served one of the older members. Also a bit odd the climactic explosion of the premises had to be reenacted a total of 26 times. The crucial line in the heroine's text, the top-of-the-lungs scream "JAAAAAMES!", could really have been dubbed after the talented 'actress' bungled it for 16 times. And nobody can blame our porter for crashing the scene another ten times after she finally got it right. Man's 116 come next May, I beg you! Of course he's asking if anybody has called him!

Be that as it may, fine to see our founder and president once more amongst us, along with many a familiar face and quite a few new ones. Here's to you, gentlemen!

Regardless of the mess, it's nice to see that the Lounge is open for business and the port is still flowing.

Until my favorite wing chair returns from the cleaners I'll have to make do perching on the divan next to that exotic redhead with the blue boa...

This seems a pleasent spot. Thought I drop in to ask opinions on my actions of yesterday.
See if you fellas think me gallant or crazy.

Visiting the sister in law (fell over the night before, leg in plaster, terrible pain)
I arrived at the house, she hobbled to the front door.
Suddenly the next door neighbour comes out and wants to chat about his car.

Dilema. Should I leave her stood at the door, fighting to stand, facing the bracing Yorkshire May wind. Or should I enter and miss out on some male bonding.

The Car??? I hear you say

I expect your sister is still standing in the open doorway...

No, knowing you she probably isn't. Next time you pay her a visit just don't be surprised if she's calling the fuzz to get rid of that stranger on her doorstep who claims to be her brother while she's an only child, as she explains to the officer...

Can a brother get a proper Mojito in this pauncy pub? I'm parched after planning drone strikes all day. Long flight from Langley, too.

While you're hanging out, you can "Pass the Canapes!"

The foie gras is excellent - just don't let Sir Roger catch you enjoying it.

I'm with you, Messervy. It's a damn shame when a man can't enjoy some duck liver with his pub drink. Of course, being a Yank, I'll be reading People magazine vice The Economist...

That big bloke with the black Van Dyke and indeterminate European accent snaffled them away under his collarless beige jacket.

So much for contributing to the advancement of western civilization.
