Maybe the UK is heading for its own Obama moment?
Anyway, it's so nice and peaceful here I might just sleep. Blissfully unaware of the earth-shattering controversies of the bondverse.
New scoop - the script for Bond 23 is under extreme re-writing. They'll remake YOLT the movie. Bond will trace Blofeld to a hollowed out volcano in Iceland, based on an exceptionally large order for baked beans by SPECTRE's caterers and a dark poison cloud drifting from Iceland towards Europe.

Oh, May 6th will be so much fun. Or, more likely, the early hours of May 7th.

Obama moment? I doubt it. Come 7th May it will be business as usual, I think. In my neck of the woods, though, we are getting more than our fair share of media attention because one of our parliamentary candidates was once placed ahead of Kate Moss in a poll of the world's most attractive women.
As for the volcano ash, yes, I've already commented about this on the "Bond like news" thread. Its that man again!

Maybe, maybe not. But it's certainly going to be closer than expected.

I'm just going to hide in here for a while. It's so... peaceful. Or is that just because I'm getting a little tipsy?
Skoal!

Anyone seen the host--Zorin? Or perhaps that's him passed out in the fireplace. No worries.
This is a bright spot on the forums these days. Someplace to relax and take a much needed break from opinions and constant troll-beatings. It's been tough out there lately!

I was interviewing bar staff... amongst other things.
AMC Hornet, you are welcome.
Trident, you are welcome.
Eric Stromberg, you are welcome.
Politics, you are NOT welcome. Unless it is some of the Lounge Of Solace members toasting their own electoral victories in some tin pot islands where coups are not only inevitable, they are most fashionable.
Leave your coats and man-bags with Henric at the door and we will furnish your palette with the finest Calvados.

Matter of course, and thanks for the welcome!

Now how about those Catholic priests?
Only kidding.
I must say Zorin, I didn't expect you to have such a talent in picking bar wenches. Very well done.

I think he meant the little digression I made into the upcoming election.
Anyway, I'll have another Vesper. We're in for a bit of a wait it seems.

Hi, everyone! I brought comfort food!
Thanks, elizabeth. I suppose a light snack might be nice, as long as it doesn't dilute any of the pain killer in my stomach...

I remember receiving a newsletter from the U.S. JB fan club back in '91 or so, announcing "Bond 17: Nowheresville." I thought that was the title of the film until I read the body of the article. It looks like we could be in for another similar wait.
The 2 1/2 years between TMWTGG and TSWLM seemed interminable to me at the time. The 5 1/2 between LTK and GE was so long I was actually desperate enough to develop an appreciation for about 1/2 of Casino Royale '67.
One thing we don't have to worry about - however long the wait, we'll still see Daniel Craig again at the end of it (remember, BB said he was making 'the next hundred").

Yes, it's not my first port of call but there are some virtues I still recognise in a lady - her taste in shoes...her ability to light up a room by talking herself down... oh, and a genetic in-built ability to be a designated driver.I must say Zorin, I didn't expect you to have such a talent in picking bar wenches. Very well done.
That'll be our last doorman - or Dormant as we called him "below stairs".It appears I'm almost two years late to the party. Amazing that this is the first time someone left the door open.
Guy Haines, you are welcome.
MHarkin, you are welcome.Anyone mind if I drop in and join you guys for a few Vespers? I'm in need of a good drink right now. What with, the 'latest development'.
Leave those thoughts at the cloakroom with Henric, AMC Hornet.Looks like I secured my invite just in time....

We must not talk shop here.
Now - who wants a ticket for our upcoming Charles Gray Tribute Act bash on the last Saturday of the month? I've heard wondrous things about this little piece of cabaret gold.

Well take a seat by the faux Swiss fire and have a bowl of cashews on the house.Hi, guys. Considering the latest developments now really is the time to celebrate the Lounge of Solace. The developments of the last weeks left me a bit shaken and stirred, I´m afraid.

No we are most definitely not.Are you still running naked Wednesdays here?
103 years of service and respite will not be reduced to nipples and bits in people's faces (unless it is Cabaret Night when we are not against the odd nipple on display, as long as it is on-stage and accompanied by a rousing chorus of Jerusalem).
