The opening has a VERY FYEO vibe to it.

The random foreign guy who talks over it is quite annoying. :(

We all want our own experience of the final film to be virginal - unsullied and pure.

Speak for yourself.

Oh, don't worry, we have all the time in the world...until October 29th

For perhaps the first time ever, I'm slightly disappointed that I'm Canadian.

Bloody terrible. Hopefully, they'll use the instrumental version for the title sequence.

Random guy? That's just General Medrano's voiceover. Remember how Moby's theme had Brosnan's voice in it? It's like that. :(

This is VERY slowly starting to grow on me.

Agreed. Only heard it twice so far. First time I thought that it was nothing special. Second listen, some 30 mins later, I got goosebumps. The piano riff is fantastic. I can't speak for anyone but me, but I think that this song, and more importantly its dark, quirky tone, will fit the mood of QOS perfectly. Based on this 1.40 minute clip, I'm a fan.

PS: First 15 seconds remind me of TND a bit.

This is torture for a Barry-fan. Has absolutely nothing to do with Bond. It's only designed to be a 'hit' and attract the younger generation. It is really sad...

The funny thing is, this is exactly what I was expecting, so I am not surprised.

What you heard, Royal Dalton...is the audio quality any good...and do you think that what you heard is exactly what will go into the movie?

Its certainly got a nice down and dirty feel to it. Its only a snippet but I like it. That said, I still felt compelled to vote Robert Mugabe. Ah Jim you crack me up.

I disagree. I'm quite glad it's not another "Bond" song that leans heavily on the 1960s Barry sound. We had plenty of those, and it's stale. It's right to push on. Regardless of the success of this venture (and I haven't made up my mind), I'm glad it's pushing into territory that's just not another "Bondian" track.

Some of the best Bond songs were the ones that sounded the least Bondian - "Live and Let Die," or "Nobody Does It Better."

The first person to suggest that Mr Brosnan singing some ABBA would be more appealing is going the right way to a firmly smacked bottom.

I don't agree really. They took what made Bond songs great but they incoporated their own style as opposed to paying homage or ripping one off.

I suppose the full song includes Dominic Greene and Elvis's voiceovers, as well... ;)

"I know that everything Bond tries to touch seems to wither and die..."

"I know my hairpiece looks like a dessicated skunk, but yo, I really try..."

Which leads me to the question; pm anyone?

It lacks the power that initially struck me with YKMN, but I am warming up to it. The piano and strings sound great. I need to hear it in its entirety before I pass final judgment.

Voted for change in any case, as I will do in Nov. :(

I don't see how they "took what made Bond songs great," since "Live and Let Die" and "Nobody Does It Better" don't really have much in common with any of their Bond song predecessors. They're huge departures.

Shouldn't Brosnan sing some ABBA for this song?

I'm on board 100% with you on that, but those songs had something else going for them: they were phenomenal tunes in their own right, and the public consensus would probably agree with me. My own opinions aside, I can't see public consensus being as kind to this one.
