Reviews are coming in....!

EMPIRE ONLINE:
With spectacle in abundance and sexiness in (supporting) parts, this is superhero filmmaking on an unprecedented scale. Rises may lack the surprise of Begins or the anarchy of Knight, but it makes up for that in pure emotion. A fitting epitaph for the hero Gotham deserves.

http://www.empireonl....asp?FID=137000

TOTAL FILM:
A smart, stirring spectacle that faces down impossible expectations to pull off a hugely satisfying end to business. Boy, you’re in for a show tonight…

http://www.totalfilm...rk-knight-rises

HOLLYWOOD REPORTER:
A truly grand finale raises Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy to the peak of big-screen comic book adaptations.

http://www.hollywood...w-batman-349354

VARIETY:
Global Box Office domination awaits.

http://www.variety.c...w/VE1117947904/

IGN:
The Dark Knight Rises is a fitting emotional and narrative conclusion to this particular interpretation of the enduring story of Bruce Wayne the man and Batman the legend.

I'm seeing a double bill of 'Batman Begins'/'The Dark Knight' at the cinema on Thursday night, then going to see 'TDKR' on Friday night. Can't wait, really can't!

I will blank out any spoiler material and do my best to give a good review for you and everyone else as best I can...!!

I can't say I like how the poster turned out I rather liked the white and black teaser much better.

If anyone is tempted to read the Time Magazine review, I'd advise them against it, as it contains quite a few significant spoilers which aren't very subtly concealed.

Thanks for that link Killkenny, just watching it now and seeing/hearing Tom Hardy on the 'black carpet', it's so odd to see how much of a versatile actor he can be with Bane, with looks and voice. Incredible!

And thanks for that warning Vauxhall! Trying to stay very spoiler-free for this one!

Some more reviews....

THE MIRROR:
Bleak, black and brilliant.

THE GUARDIAN:
Christian Bale's tormented Batman duly rises for Christopher Nolan's bruising saga of revolution and redemption.

http://www.guardian....w?newsfeed=true

THE TELEGRAPH:
After a breathless, bravura final act, a nuclear payload of catharsis brings The Dark Knight Rises, and Nolan’s trilogy, to a ferociously satisfying close.

Really? Glad I didn't. Their Avengers review achieved the same thing. Gave away the ending. They need to shake up their film review staff.

Better balance things out...here's a negative review. Booooo.

DECCAN CHRONICLE:
Christopher Nolan concludes his Batman trilogy in typically spectacular, ambitious fashion with The Dark Knight Rises, but the feeling of frustration and disappointment is unshakable.

Doing my best to avoid spoilers for the next (just under) three days. I know the basic premise of the movie, but nothing about any of the characters' fates or the ending of the film.

Me too coco, I'm not going to read any reviews now we're THIS close. Very pleased that no fates are determined and anything major has leaked. It will just make it all the more epic to watch unfold!

I have some ideas about what could happen, but this is a Chris Nolan film so I'll leave them at the cinema door when I go in!

I've got a 'Batman Begins'/'The Dark Knight' double bill at my cinema tomorrow night, and then 'TDKR' at 9am Friday - total Bat-madness, but that's how it should be!

For those in the UK, Sky News and the BBC News channel have live coverage from the premiere over the next few hours, plus there's another programme on Sky Movies. Another link here, although not sure if it works outside the UK: http://skymovies.sky...-rises-premiere

Ah nice one, thanks Vauxhall - always really engrossing watching these live links, don't know why, but I found myself watching about an hour of the US premier live link of the film too the other day!

Kudos to these actors though, jetting around all the time, facing the press and answering similar questions...good job.

Dear God, what a truly astonishing film. For several minutes after the credits began I literally could not formulate words. I've never felt that way after leaving any movie theater, ever.

That's awful - chilling that this gunman seems to have been inspired by the acts of Bane from the film. Sad news indeed.

BUT in light of the the film just returned and didn't get to have my drink or snacks because 1) It was a little early to go eating so soon but 2) The film didn't let me go and I forgot I had them!

I wont spoil anything until we all get to witness this powerful, tense, emotional and brilliant end to the Batman trilogy from Chris Nolon - so here are my Pros and Cons (if any!) to chew over as I replay the film in my head...

PROS:
- Christian Bale was at his best as Batman in this finale - he is Bruce Wayne the icon and also the Batman legend.

- Anne Hathaway simpy smoulders with how gorgeous she is as Selina Kyle, and she owns the role.

- Tom Hardy is deadly and exceptional as Bane and thank god we've got him as a villain

- Fantastic support from the cast, and expecially from newcomers Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

- Eclipses 'The Dark Knight' IMO in terms of well paced narrative and story telling

- Tense, taught and exciting with brilliant action sequences and stunning visuals with haunting music by Hans Zimmer

- Batman vs Bane is a special moment for fans of great cinema, powerful action and die-hard Batman fans

CONS:
- Bane is sorley under-used, and I wish we could of had a bit more

- The ending could have used a little more....actually, no, it couldn't...it worked perfectly to end this interpretation. Ignore me.

....I can't THINK of any big cons at the minute apart from wanting more of Bane! I'll try forumalte something else, but I am so glad we've had this epic conclusion to this cinematic event!

Any and ALL plans I had of going to see The Dark Knight Rises are on INDEFINITE SUSPENSION after what transpired last night in Aurora, Colorado (which is approx. 68 miles north from where I live).. My heart and thoughts go out to the victims and their families and am just sick to death of this kind of bullls#$t happening all the time.. I still remember the Columbine shooting as though it were yesterday and it's just unbelievable that this s^&t keeps happening.. *sigh*

Glad to hear that others here are really enjoying the film but forgive me If my enthusiasim has totally bottom out...this is just not the appropriate time for me..hopefully soon though..

Just one year after the shooting in Norway, which is perhaps not a coincidence.

Thoughts with those affected by this.

Totally understand your feelings Dove - and to all affected, it has really crippled the innocence and excitement many felt for this event film and shocking what is happening in this world.

Obviously too, it's clear this was pretty planned to coincide with the film events itself which is even more crazy, leading this maniac was taking the film too much to heart.
