Here here Tarl!

As Thomas Wayne said... "Why do we fall? So we can learn to pick ourselves back up."

The film keeps going over and over in my head...I know I'll have to see it again to take it all in. Love Bane...really do. "Let the games begin!"

Very sad to hear what happened in Aurora this morning.

But dont let that deter anyone from going out to see this movie-if that's your choice this weekend. Very glad to know that individual is in custody, & not on the streets. Keep the victims in your prayers, God Bless.

You'll really want to, Skyfall. The film pays off in so many ways and this is the most satisfied I've EVER felt coming out of a film trilogy. No threequel curse here.

I cried 5 times during this film. Honestly, oh my god. Michael Caine made me cry 4 of these times. I'm not even going to attempt a review yet. Brilliant film!

That sums it up for as well. Very emotional for me on many levels......btw I had no idea that Anne Hathaway was sooo sexy.

Absolutely tremendous movie, which left me leaving the cinema almost euphoric at how satisfying a conclusion to the trilogy it was. Christian Bale was great, but I was most pleased that the incredible supporting cast were given the opportunity to display their strengths - Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anne Hathaway and Michael Caine were my personal highlights. I'll probably have more to say later, but yes, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES didn't disappoint at all.

The chilling real-life tragedy was very much in the back of my mind as hubby and I watched in the theatre yesterday. Strangely enough, the theme of the film directly opposes the actions of this deranged gunman, and for me that's the film's triumph. It moves a bit too slowly in the first half, tries to explain a wee bit too much for my tastes, yet the second half offers tremendous satisfaction. For an action film, it explores an amazing range of emotional territory. I hope that people who are disturbed, understandably so, by what happened will not be permanently dissuaded from seeing this film. I don't normally offer such praise for a blockbuster; I tend to prefer smaller, quieter films. But this one is worth it.

Very good. Not great. Pacing felt off and easily and probably should have been scaled back by about 30 minutes. One thing I must admit that bothered me was the handling of Bruce Wayne and his struggle to separate Batman from his life. Nolan explores this really well in the Dark Knight but seems to fumble what the comics have long said in TDKR, Bruce Wayne and Batman are indistinguishable. And
Spoiler
I understand Nolan's desire to cap the series. He did it relatively superbly. But the whole film felt like a conclusion instead of a strong movie on its own legs.

The Dark Knight Rises (2012)

I would've posted this review sooner, but it's taken me a while to get over how brilliant it is, so I can judge it on it's own merits. There's a lot to like about this film, and I've been racking my brains for a while thinking about what's not to like, but I've came to the conclusion that there's hardly anything. The film is brilliant, and it's probably the strongest entry of the trilogy.

Everything in this movie is near perfect, from the cinematography, to the pacing (Which puts it leagues above The Dark Knight straight away), to the genuinely heartbreaking scenes involving Bruce Wayne and his faithful butler Alfred. I can honestly say that I've never cried so much in a film in my entire life. Every scene involving Michael Caine is just heart wrenching, and the last half of the film is beyond excellent.

Christian Bale puts in a brilliant performance as Bruce Wayne, which in my opinion in his strongest to date. The thing I liked about this film most though, is the fact that it hasn't followed in the footsteps of 'The Dark Knight', and went down more of a 'Batman Begins' route. This is Bruce Wayne and Gotham central, which in itself is a perfect way to wrap up the series. Then we have the fact that this is not a superhero movie, far from it. This is probably the most real and down to earth Batman film you'll see and what the film manages to do, is maintain such a strong and personal connection to the characters and at the same time and give it such a massive scope. The thing that struck me the most though. is that this is not a conventional Batman film, and more like an extremely character driven art house film. It deals mostly with Gotham without a hero, and I think thats where the most successful aspect lies. I also love that this is Bruce Wayne central. Batman is hardly ever featured, and I really do feel that this was a very risky, but wise move. It was very important that it focused on the Bruce Wayne character, because that's where the true heart and emotion lives.

As mentioned before, I found it really difficult to find flaws in this film. It does have a few plot holes (How did Bruce get back into Gotham, etc), but you know what? It really doesn't matter. The film is so strong in it's own right that I can gladly overlook it's flaws. I found Bane a tad underused, but I think the fact that The Dark Knight Rises focuses more on loss, and the people of Gotham adjusting to a world without Batman, then It makes sense for him to be confined to the background.

I can't really make up my mind whether or not I prefer this to Batman Begins, but it's definately on par, and I've never once been thus emotional connected to a film, so I have a feeling that this could very well be my favourite chapter in the trilogy. I'm not going to say that I've loved The Dark Knight Trilogy over the years. I've only just recently rediscovered Batman Begins, I really didn't think much of it the first time, but soon entered my top 10 film list. While I really enjoy The Dark Knight, I still think it's very flawed, but now that the series has concluded. I am feeling an overwhelming sense of loss. So thank you Christopher Nolan, for restoring my faith in cinema, and taking the time to deliver and intelligent and exciting range of films.

Very well said.

Please, do not let one deranged individual - or a number of them - take control of your life. This was a sick and depraved act by a person that could and would have used any pretence regardless. If you want to see the film - just do it.

I think any ambiguities about the ending are based on Nolan's reputation for deception more than anything else. I think the ending was probably intended exactly as shown on screen, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who felt a surging inside of me as the music swelled for the last time. Tremendous, and dangerously close to a Nolan feel-good film!

OH...MY....F#$KING GOD!! That was an INCREDIBLE flick!! I'm still chewing over and processing the total AWESOMNESS that is The Dark Knight Rises...wow..so much to digest.. :) Tried to go see it in IMAX so that I could hopefully experience the new Skyfall trailer, but all the showings for today in IMAX were sold out by the time I got there..dammit!! Oh well, perhaps this week (why, oh why did EON ONLY release the new Skyfall trailer for the IMAX showings??).. Anyways..wow...while Batman Begins is still my personal favorite of the trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises has definitely surpassed The Dark Knight...though not by much...All three films form perhaps one of the few trilogies where each film is equally solid interms of contributing to the whole picture.. Final grades of the films in my opinion.. Batman Begins : A+, The Dark Knight: A-, The Dark Knight Rises: A... More thoughts to come from me later...
