Here's to hoping there's a stronger plot in this one compare to TDK, a film that was saved from mediocrity thanks to Heath Ledger's towering performance as the joker.

Exactly my feelings, PPK.. I much prefer Batman Begins to The Dark Knight, though who could NOT love what Heath Ledger brought to the role of the Joker?

Man, I'm only now JUST discovering this wealth of Dark Knight Rises goodies that has come to light, i.e. the new teaser posters and TV spots and such.. Looks fantastic! Guess I've been too focused on a certain other film that is due to be released later this year *nudge, nudge, wink, wink!*

AND just announced today...the running time for 'The Dark Knight Rises' is...


2 hours and 45 minutes.

That's the longest of the trilogy, 15 minutes more than 'The Dark Knight'.

Ahh..good find, thecasino.. 2 hrs and 45 mins..I'm sure this will be a jam-packed film! In the meantime...just a little something to psych ourselves even more...one of my favorite tracks from Batman Begins..Can't wait to see what Hans Zimmer will bring to The Dark Knight Rises..

For toy hunters-Target has a 5 pack of Batman figures from the Dark Knight Rises: Bane, Batman, Bruce Wayne, Batman (Air Assault-with a full mask, just another variant of Batman) & Catwoman. They are 3.75 in tall and cost around $25

I believe that advance ticket sales begin tomorrow in the US for 'TDKR' - not sure about here in the UK, so snap them up over the pond while you can!

'Death By Exile' - A short interlude, but death of a character?
'Rise' - Batman? Nightwing? Gotham City? Robin?!

Should be a barnstorming soundtrack!

My take on the track titles:

Spoiler

1. A storm is coming - Selina's foreboding warning that we hear during the masquerade ball held at the Museum. It'll probably segue into track 2.
2. On Thin Ice - Scarecrow leads a kangaroo court during the film and orders Gordon to walk across the thin ice as his sentence.
3. Gotham's Reckoning - Bane's leading his charge on the stock exchange/football field. He delivers this line in trailer 3.
4. Mind if I cut in? - Selina dancing with Bruce at the ball.
5. Underground army - Bane plots away underground, fights Batman down there and traps the police there as well.
6. Born in darkness - A quote about Bane likely by Alfred. TV spots have him saying "born and raised in hell on Earth."
7. The Fire Rises - Spoken by Bane during the prologue. Perhaps this is the prologue music.
8. Nothing out There - Could refer to Bane having complete control with no one out there to help.
9. Despair - Obviously something shocking and conjuring a hopeless reaction at the time.
10. Fear Will Find You - Not sure about this. A line by Bane?
11. Why do we Fall? - A throwback to Batman Begins. I bet this is when Bruce climbs out of the pit.
12. Death By Exile - Bruce being locked away in the prison away outside of Gotham - as Bane goes about wreaking his havoc with Bruce hopeless to stop it?
13. Imagine The Fire - Not sure completely. Could be when Bane is giving a speech about what is to come .
14. Necessary Evil - Could be two things. Batman beating down Bane and Catwoman killing Bane as a 'necessary evil', or Talia revealing herself and following through her plan as a 'necessary evil'.
15. Rise - Probably will end the album in a big way, cues from the final showdown, etc.

It came out during the filming, also an extra said of the kangaroo court and we have seen proof of this in a TV spot. Apparently you get two choices, outright death or try your luck across the ice surrounding the City.

I am hoping both musical segments from the final trailer appear.

The piano segment is hauntingly beautiful and could be very powerful on screen, as for the triumphant fanfare at the end, that's classic Nolan-Batman power!

The next film I'm looking forward to seeing this summer besides 'The Expendables' is The Dark Knight Rises and I hope they are both good enough to hold me off till SF or at least till some of the Anniversary book come out. I should read a few of the Bond books this summer...
