From painful experience, don't trust ANY such sites. Many listed the Region 1 edition of Paul Schrader's 'The Walker' (I am a Schrader fan) as having a commentary. It didn't. Even though I'm reliably informed that Schrader recorded one!

I cant wait to get this. All of the extras are so tempting but that is the onlyreason i want this. Is it worth it only for the extras? I dont know im confused for thirty dollars i get a few extra things ontop of the original casino royale movie. It isnt worth it knowing people will post them on the internet. But im sure it will be on sale sooner or later. I just wish they released the extras seperatley for ten dollars instead of buying the whole movie again when already haveing it on blue ray and on dvd. I think i will end up getting it but secretly i will alwasys feel ripped off.

My dear quantum, it's all about facts. The first CR DVD had to be done and finished BEFORE the movie came out. There was no way the filmmaker could have fitted any time and work into extra bonuses then. That's the way it goes... No one forces you to rebuy, you can always sell the old one to get the new one, or not get it.

Why was the DVD done BEFORE the movie came out? I mean, isn't it a huge risk and very expensive to have the full product in stock so soon before its release?

Just wanna add something to your news. The whole reason for re-releasing casino royale is to give it better sound therefore they have added Dolby true HD Wish it was DTS but better then you claim "Dolby digital".

I cannot wait to see the extended PTS. I hope that it is intercut with an extended Bond/Dryden conversation.

Er, I think some of us are going off the track here :

- Original release of CR on Blu-Ray was PCM, you can't beat that, Dolby True HD won't be an improvement, it will be similar in quality.

- When someone says the original CR DVD / BR was finished BEFORE the movie came out, it doesn't mean it was printed before the movie came out, it means all the work was done before the movie was released, because there's no time, between the release and the DVD issue, for a filmmaker to work on this as they are promoting the movie. If this didn't happen, then movies would be coming out on DVD one year after the initial release, minimum.

Thanks 4 clarifying it :)

Cant wait 4 this DVD too.
I really hope to the scenes with Vesper and Bond in the sea (as seen in the stills). Maybe I want too much and they will include only additional scenes from the hospital :( I guess I'll have to wait for the release...

Anyone preordering? Please, if you buy this (regular dvd) 3 disc edition, would you kindly post a review of the extras? I have a digital copy of CR, not the 2 disc edition, as I have been holding out for something like this jampacked edition

TY :(

Am I right in saying the DTS track which was included on the previous release is absent from this new edition.

I'll be hanging onto my 1 disc region 3 copy if so as the soundtrack sounds better on DTS, infact since I upgraded my amp and DVD player I've able to taste the delights of DTS.

From what I can tell the UE's are better in DTS, it sutle but they seem to pack more of a punch, I remember catching Master & Commander on DTS and being blown away.

The Wife and I are doing the LOTR extended trilogy on the lead up to Xmas and I can't wait to sample is first on my LCD TV as I've not caught since I bought it and also witht the DTS track.

I am definitlely more of a fan of DTS. If the new edition does not include I'll only be watching it for the commentary and the extras unless the transfer is any better.

Thought about Blu-Ray but that have to be for QOS, not in the financial ballpark to upgrade yet.

Does anyne know how much I need to upgrade to get the full benefit of the bluray sound?

I'm sure all of the extras watched by us will have some form of discussion. :)

I cannot wait to get this, I'm looking forward to the deleted scenes the most.

Hmmm, that site says even the dvd version has the director and producer commentary and that the only difference with the blu-ray is that it has the commentary as picture-in-picture feature.

I hope this to be true, since I'm not ready to upgrade my movies to blu-ray.

According to DVDtalk forums the CR CE will be $14.99 at Circuit City and apparently they will be carrying all of the indivual UE 2 disc editions as well as Bond blu-rays. All bond DVD's and Blu-rays carry free QoS movie money as well as a buy two Bond DVD's get $5 off. Here is the link:

Does anyone have any theories (or inside knowledge) regarding the packaging of the 3 disc set? Do we think it will have a slipcase? The 'steelbook' cases seem quite popular these days but I guess if it was to be in one of those the various listings would have specified that.

If you check the attachment, the inside packaging can be seen.
I would think it should be a slip case.

To be honest, I just seen the DISC III until now. But I'll check the other ones.

Do you know if the Collector's Edition is the uncut version like the region 3 DVD last time and hows the video quality compared to the last DVD?

Well, the video quality is basically the same, it's great. Not BD, but great. And as I said before, I've only watched the Disc III.

He's not teasing. He's telling you what he knows. He might not have had time to check out disc 1 yet... some people do have jobs, you know.

What a meant was the quality of the movie not the special features but when you do get to Disc 1 could you check to see if it is the uncut version since thats a big factor for me in whether to buy it or not. Thanks for the info you did give so far.
