Deluded fanboys now! Whatever next! If we all have to wait, we all have to wait. It will be good, it is ready and it will be here..sooner rather than later. No more generalized descriptions today, it'll make them angry..and you won't like them/us when they/we are angry! (Field of Dreams, Indiana Jones, The Magic Roundabout and now The Hulk...perhaps this is turning in to a general film type topic...cool! And it started out so well! ).

Apologies Smartz, you actually gave us good, accurate and early info which we needed, thanks.

Correct me if I am wrong but 1 min 51 seconds is not as long as the Casino Royale trailer, which was about 2 minutes 30?

It's not as long as the theatrical but it is longer than the teaser for Casino Royale. 1:50 is actually a pretty good sized trailer if I may say so. Looking forward to it.

Yes, it sounds like a full trailer, rather than a teaser (the CR teaser was about a minute long). I wonder if they're only planning to put this one trailer out?

Highly doubt it, since the BBFC has credited it as Trailer A.

Most teaser trailers are in the one minute range, generally about about 1:10, give or take a few seconds.

Theatrical trailers run, on average, around 2:10, with some going longer.

This is a little strange because it's much longer than your standard teaser but a little shorter than a theatrical. To me it seems as if they have skipped over a teaser and gone straight to theatricals.

Could mean anything; different trailer versions for different countries and such. I think it is quite likely there will be another trailer down the line, but since they're putting out an almost 2 minute trailer already, who knows, maybe they're trying a new strategy.

Forgive me for repeating myself, but as I suggested earlier, I suspect the teaser trailer is slightly longer as there will be an element of recap.

When CR was being filmed I seen to recall interveiws with both Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson who both stated that it would take until the third film before we began to see the James Bond that we were used to. He would gain his tastes etc in those films until we would see the James Bond we were used to suave, sophisticated etc, we would see how he "became" the James Bond we know and love.

Interesting. If it is just a teaser trailer, then the theatrical one won't be much longer.

Don't be surprised if the theatrical trailer is a lot longer than the teaser DaveBond31; these days most theatrical trailers clock in at 2 and a half minutes or more. But like everyone has been saying, we're likely to see a lot of re-cap footage, especially in the teaser in 19 days time.

Just as an FYI trailers are not allowed to run any longer then 2:30, with one exception. Each studio is allowed one trailer a year longer then that length. I have never seen a studio actually do that. Anything that appears online is of course considered different and the run times can change.

This is an awfully long teaser. The flashbacks to Casino Royale are a distinct possibility & would explain the length. One other possibility would be that Forster couldn't make a decision on what to edit out so he just left it all in.

Well with Indy 4 the theatrical trailer and the teaser trailer were around 1 min 50 sec.

I'm thinking there was a three minute trailer for one of the SPIDERMAN films but I may be mistaken.

I just completely flabbergasted I missed that lesson in school outlining exactly how long a teaser trailer for a film can be....

It is one second too short.

I spurn it, accordingly.

"The duration of trailers". This is what we have come to. Quantum of Seconds.

The next bit is deleted because it contained a lot of baffled swearing.

It could just be one long exchange between M and BOND.

It could just be BOND walking across the desert Omar Shariff style.

It could be that those that cut the trailer know exactly what they are doing.

Is anyone else concerned that the teaser trailer is not only going to be a second too long but that it's being attached to 'Tony Hancock'....? Is this a biopic of the late, great British television clown? And will Will Smith be able to pull off a middle aged white English man from the 1950's?

Or should that read Sony's 'Hancock'?

I think my concern is that I will enjoy the Zorin/Jim interchange more than the teaser.

I'm not a moaner by trade- but i feel a little miffed that no-one referenced me when I posted about a friends courier company delivering the trailer to the BBFC and that i was bang on the money.

Worry not sweetpea. I daresay you will be thanked in full when the actual film is released.

And no doubt thanked at next year's BAFTA's and have a vol-au-vant named after you at the post-awards Sony knees up.

So there's no trailer yet?

It has been reviewed, it has been rated, but it has not yet been released: July 2nd is the given date.

I'm not a moaner by trade- but i feel a little miffed that no-one referenced me when I posted about a friends courier company delivering the trailer to the BBFC and that i was bang on the money. I'm even more miffed though that some shylock on Mi6 decided to pass off my exact post as their own.

Sour martini's i guess!

I do believe the user over at MI6 contacted the BBC of his own volition - he created a separate thread before the one mentioning the trailer being received - and queried about it there and then.
