Sounding as if it's beginning to teeter limply on the lip of the pit of crumminess. I expect I'll probably see it for old time's sake, at some point.
Why? Because of the alien thing? That really fits in with Indiana Jones land pretty well; Runways of the Gods and all that. It's not exactly any more implausible than showing proof that God and Christ definitely did exist, is it? Although possibly the two viewpoints aren't compatible, depending on which version of the faith you subscribe to...
Well, the poster didn't exactly show the skull so clearly.
It didn't, but it's clearly not normal, even on the poster.
Here's another view of it, in a rather pleasing form:

Beginning to?
However:

I know I'm in the minority on that. Just felt the movie was too jokey and didn't have a feeling of danger or breakneck action to it. Even trying to watch fifteen years later didn't help. All it did was remind me of how much I didn't like it and all the reasons why.
Naturally, I'll be buying my ticket for the new Indy movie as soon as possible and go to the first show possible hoping for the best. I'm excited by it being somewhat inspired by 1950s monster movies like THE THING FROM ANOTHER WORLD (one of my all-time favorites). Looking forward to seeing what they do with that idea.

Strangely enough, this week's big Spielberg news may have nothing to do with this long-awaited trailer.

Kingdom of the Smashed-In Skull.
One wonders why he took the role, unless it was to deliberately turn around like this later on.

Maybe the next film will be INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF FALUN GONG.

Indeed. Must say, though, I'm brimmin' over with respect for Spielberg at the mo. Might even check out the trailer of his latest barrel-scraper as a reward (I'm sure he'll be so pleased).

BTW, what's with the uglification of Cate Blanchett? Yes, yes, I know she's supposed to be some kind of stern Soviet villainess, but there was surely no need to make her look like Rosa Klebb. They should have gone the Pola Ivanova route, which would have required her to simply turn up looking as stunning as she normally does. Why she was made to wear that ghastly wig is beyond me.

The German trailer (which will air on Friday 15th on ProSieben at 20:12, FYI, German CBners) is announced with a running time of 1:58.A question for the Harmsmeister or anyone else in the know: is this going to be just a teaser or the "proper" trailer, i.e. two minutes or so in length?

It was despicable that a country with such an atrocious human and animal rights record got awarded the games in the first place.

It's a long teaser. From those who have seen it, it doesn't give away any plot details - just some humorous exchanges of dialogue and some clips of action.A question for the Harmsmeister or anyone else in the know: is this going to be just a teaser or the "proper" trailer, i.e. two minutes or so in length?
I couldn't be more excited about that wig and her overall appearance. I love it.BTW, what's with the uglification of Cate Blanchett? Same here- I think it's a rather fantastic cartoon look.
