That never bothered me as much as "buttcrack-forehead" Palpatine in "Revenge of the Sith!"
Makes it easier for him to spew his political crap...

Here's one I just noticed the other night watching through Goldfinger. Check this out if you haven't noticed. But, be warned, if you do, you'll probably recognize it from here on out.
In the very first shot of the titles, I have already commented how the hand of the model painted gold is very stocky, thick and has a bent pinky - ah, but have you noticed the twitching thumb?
Watch it again, her thumb twitches irritatingly several times. Check it out. It's like she can't keep it still.
Did you ever notice that?
I'll have to watch for that one.

It's all a cryptic meaning for calling the film GoldFINGER which the filmmakers rightly picked up for screen. Broken and twitchy fingers, the web of sin.

Virgin Atlantic, Sony Vaio, Sony Ericcson, Omega...... sometimes feel far too obvious and the advertising is too much.
That said, I own many of the above (I don't own Virgin Atlantic though...) and maybe that's because I like Bond and Bond stuff..

Casino Royale (2006) is perfect in every way but.............. the amount of product placements irritates me.

Yup, a bit too much. However, I've found that product placement can either:
A. Add to the reality of a film or...It's just a bit strange to watch a show with all fake products (as they do on TV so much. People drinking cans of "Pop-O" and eating cereal called "Sugar Bombs" gets pretty old and rips the reality right out of something.
B. Take away from the reality of the film. Too much product placement also seems fake and unreal - making it seem a bit like a commercial.

But at least there wasn't a gratuitous insert closeup of it on his hand. The Omega product placement was annoying, they didn't have to explicitly say what watch it was.

Yes, for that scene to work and to bring out Flemings Bond the products had to be real. One of the delights of Flemings books was that Bond used real products, and only the best ones at that. It was the whole snobbery aspect that made Bond who he was.
I think Casino Royale brought that back quite well, sure they were all sony products and theres an obvious reason for that, but i thought it was all handled tastefully and to help flesh out the story, rather than say British Airways in Moonkraker.
To me, all the whingeing about product placement in Casino Royale misses the whole point of the flemings books, and sounds like having a whinge just for whinging sakes, my opinion of course.

Surely most of this stuff is having a whinge just for whinging sakes. I think that's kind of the point

When I went back home and took my parents (a tradition now) to see the latest Bond, my father turned to me at this point and said "But of course, the country is almost entirely Muslim" which provided some irritation to me for the rest if the film, worried that there would be more sloppiness from the writers.Renard being such a letdown after a great build up in TWINE.
And the line' " For centuries Hindu pilgrims have journeyed here to witness the miiracleofthe eternalflamesthatneverdie" or whatever it was. Clunky as hell.

Which is why i thought id have a whinge about it

Well the book Bond didn't have all his things from one company...
True, but considering Sony were nice enough to spend a couple of 100 million bucks making this fine movie im not going to have a go for them chucking their laptops and phones in now, they are a business after all.
Better than MGM throwing in an american actress in every film anyway

OHMSS: The first major break in continuation: Blofeld doesn't recognize Bond.
Of course not, James Bond wasn't disguised as a Japanese man (I'm clutching at straws again)

Actually, YOLT was the transgressor, here: It featured a bald, Nehru-suited Blofeld where the previous films had given the villain a business suit and a head full of hair.

Mayday 'getting it on' with Bond.. not needed.
The most disturbing Bond film pairing since Wint and Kidd...

The Surfing sequence in DAD. Bond looked like a cutout of Brosnan pasted to a popsickle stick and the icebergs looked like blobs of Cool Whip.

Was was the point of the duck on Bond's head during Goldfinger?
It was supposed to be funny I guess.

What I liked was you saw this special effect that looked like a video game (and not even a top-notch video game), then you'd have an insert shot of Brosnan grimacing and straining, then cut back to the special effect and so on. The close ups on Brosnan only emphasized the phoniness of the visuals.
