That better not affect LOST.

Agreed. I'm sick of these setbacks limiting episode counts and robbing us of quality viewing.

Guess what strike is looming on the horizon-yep you guessed it, it's the actors now. They better get things settled, or we could see everything shut down sometime next month. Great, more crappy reality shows, and 2 new versions of American Idol. Kill me, just kill me.

What I find comical about these "reality" shows is that most of the contestants are just aspiring actors & actresses looking for their big break. Hardly reality which is why I just don't watch them. When I want reality, I tune to Discovery Channel or The History Channel. Outside of that, the writers strike allowed me the time to to rediscover some old shows like the original Mission Impossible TV series. I still anxiously await the return of 24.

Someone said it so much better than I did earlier-Bond and Bauer in November (Same week also if I remember it correctly), but the big question is can the planet sustain that much awesome at once, or will it simply implode?

Eric Lively, Gil Bellows and Tony Todd are in the prequel. Lively plays the son of President Taylor, Todd, who is going to play a role in Day 7 plays an African dictator and Bellows gets to play the State Department official who tells Jack Bauer he has to go to trial. Possible spoiler below, if you don't wantto know don't read, m'kay?

If the rumor is true, expect Lively to be killed in the prequel, unless the Taylor's have more than 1 son.

Let it great again, that's all I ask. Let Jack get laid. Let Kim be gone. Let the wild surprises return. Let every mighty shockeroo we'd hoped for in the Crystal Skull turn out to have been siphoned from Skull's bloodless veins and transfused into a Bauer who's got The Power back!

Okay, you know how on 24 whenever you meet a family, (I think the Bauer's are an exception now), there is only 1 child? Well, that streak is over. The Taylor's have a son, that is widely known, but now they have a daughter. Olivia Taylor will be played by Sprague Grayden of Jericho fame.

Shooting is going on now in South Africa, and the producers and writers are doing a better job of keeping things quiet. In one of my earlier posts, I gave a hint of what Day 7 COULD be like, well, let's just say that is done and gone. The whole season is mapped out from start to finish (Thanks in part to the writer's strike), which is a first for the show. Dammit, will November 23 get here soon enough? DAMMIT!

TV Guide mentions, in this week's ish, that the new season will feature both Sam Neil and Sean Bean. Jeezlaweez. I do believe I smell the comeback trail for this trailblazing show!

It's great news that they have mapped out the whole season. One of the things I hated about day 6 is that the exact moment the threat was finally eliminated in episode 17, Mr. Cheng called Jack. It felt like they had no idea of where to take the storyline.

I think somebody's got their wires crossed...Bean and Neill are appearing in a new series, "Crusoe". Can't find any mention of their involvement with 24 anywhere on the net.

Wow looks like I've been off the 24 news radar for too long. Fantastic to hear all about the prequel, and even better is the news that season 7 is already all planned out! Bring on November!

I agree, this is good news. From watching the behind the scenes stuff on the DVDs, they did write a lot of stuff in big strokes & then try to fill in other things as they went along. With the long gap between the seasons because of the strike, they had to finish it much sooner as they couldn't hold the actors under contract forever. Hopefully, this translates into a more cohesive story. With this in mind, the prequel should set the new season up perfectly.

Yet more casting news, it seems The Main Villain of Season 7 has been cast, and its a 'name' actor. I'll spoiler tag it just in case this casting is meant to be a surprise, but I don't think it is. Anyway :

I haven't followed news or casting of Season 7 that closely, but I really hope they've replaced Wayne Palmer as president by death or end-of-term. He was absolutely terrible.

Oh, Gawwwwd, you're right. He was a lump. He should've married Jack's daughter--within a week the two of them would've bored one another to death.

It's out-and one HELL of a find for the show. With the 2 hour movie, we can get introduced to him, and makes me feel a little better about not having Logan back.

That is fantastic news about the main villain for Season 7. A great coup!

Also, Wayne Palmer has been replaced as President for those who were asking. We now have a female President in the world of 24.

It's official-Season 7 will take place 4 years after Season 6, so Jack will be in his 50's, and still kicking all kinds of @$$.

4 years, eh? That must be the biggest leap between seasons so far I reckon. Almost 6 years after Tony's "death" also... Potential for a lot of backstory to be fitted in that time frame too. Very interesting.

Also read recently that...

Christ, aren't they ever gonna get Jack some unbumly threads? A decent haircut? We're not talking Tom Ford or Vidal Sassoon. Yet another do from Great Cuts (or Great Kudzu) and threads from Goodwill. Ah well, we love him anyway and thank God he's coming back.

Nicer threads would clash with that messenger bag/satchel that he always seems to be carrying.

Very true! I think I saw a shot of filming for Season Seven, and even though he was wearing a suit, he seemed to have acquired a smart, leather messenger bag to go with it!

Have any of you ever wondered what it would be like to be with jack Bauer on a plane? The good folks at blogs4bauer have come up with that:

15:13: Jack settles into coach. The person in front of him reclines and they haven’t even taxied the runway yet. Jack yanks his seat belt off his seat, wraps it around the guy’s neck, yelling, “Dammit! Can’t you even wait for us to take off? Try that again and I’ll shove a towel down your throat and then pull it back up!”

18:28: Jack can’t nap. Asks for an extra pillow. Stewardess tells him she’ll take a look for one. He leaps from his seat, shoves her up against the wall of the galley, holding her by the neck, yelling, “Dammit! I don’t have time for you to look!” She suggests he lay off the caffeinated drinks for the rest of the trip.

00:34: Jack has been drinking in hopes of falling asleep. He’s leaning over his seatmate, slurring, “And then Kim - KIIIIMMMMMM! - stopped talking to me just becaush my partner killed her mommy. TERRRIIIIII!” Breaks down sobbing. Stewardess cuts off the alcohol supply. He slams her up against the wall of the galley, holding her by the neck.
