-Watch the seasons you missed on DVD (I am starting Day 3), or re watch other seasons.
-Catch it on syndication in your area (A&E no longer shows it everyday; DAMMIT!)
-Talk like Jack Bauer on Mondays. Remind your employees who they work for and wet a towel if they give you any lip. If talking to a telemarketer, tell him/her to give you the schematics for the building, or for the bomb.
-Start the top of the hour with: 'The Following Takes Place Between 6:00 PM And 7:00 PM (It is 6:00 PM Central as I type this)
-When someone asks what you did the other day, answer 'Previously on 24'
-Knock up your sister in law. Come on, Marilyn was way hotter than Teri.

Fox's 24 will produce the remaining 16 episodes of its planned season this spring, to avoid losing options on its actors, but the drama won't return till next January.
Arrghhh!

Some more info in a new article out today. All episodes in the can by July. Ahhhh, I share your pain, Vauxhall & Marc.
Fox's 24 resumes production next month on 16 remaining episodes and will continue shooting through July, even though viewers won't see them until early 2009. The show is shooting early to avoid losing some character actors who are crucial to the plot but aren't signed to long-term contracts.
"So many of our characters aren't regulars," says executive producer Howard Gordon, so some will be busy with movie roles or pilots that will now conflict with 24's schedule. "The actors tend to have more freedom, so we need to juggle."
They'll also need to work around co-star Mary Lynn Rajskub's pregnancy; she's due in late summer.

Ah, when 24 was still 24, and Jack Bauer was still Jack Bauer.Oh, well, this might be a good time to see the only season I never got the chance to see: would you, believe, Season 1!
I wonder if the 3-6 crowd knows that 24 wasn't a government and terrorism- centred show to begin with, that the producers and writers and the gang turned their backs against the fans they attracted with season 1, making the show all about stopping terrorist attacks. They also changed Jack Bauer into a tough as nails shouts-all-the-time icon with Hollywood lines, in contrast to the realistically written, calm, loving familyman with a warm and tolerant personality from season 1.

-24: Cold Warriors should be out this month, it's from IDW Publishing, and if you want to catch their 24 Comics, they covered the epic Operation Nightfall that played a role in the plot of the 1st 3 seasons (In 24: Nightfall)
-Joel Surnow is leaving 24 after the 4th episode of the current season, Howard Gordon is still the top dog, as is Jon Cassar, and Brad Turner.
-Just hold out a little while longer, 24 fans! January will come soon!

But I'm not complaining. I think the season will benefit from it.

If you have bought the DVD's from Seasons 3-5, you may have noticed the prequels that were attached to highlight the upcoming season. Well, the problems of getting a story done for Season 7 prevented it this year. But the writer's strike may actually help here. Why? Can't wait until January for Day 7? You don't have to!
According to the Hollywood Reporter, a 2 hour 24 movie is coming to Fox sometime this fall! So instead of a 10 minute clip, we will get a 2 hour movie, leading up to Day 7, and be sure to expect a certain former CTU agent to return to the forefront in this one.
WAHOO!

My initial thoughts are about whether the TV movie will be shot in real time (I would presume not) and whether they may incorporate the idea of shooting in Africa for this prequel. Looking forward to hearing more news.

That's fantastic news!!

The movie will cover the 2 year gap in b/t seasons 6 to Season 7, and Africa could be a possibility.

I have real reservations about this season, the 24 series which used to be cutting edge has suffered from PC syndrome, last year Jack's dad was the baddie and before that it was the President of the US. What happened to the Islamic Fundamentalists?
Er...didn't last season feature the USA under siege by a group of Muslim terrorists led by a gentleman named Abu Fayed?

Also well spotted about the repetition of the name Taylor. There could certainly be something in that.
However, as for Bryce Morris, I wouldn't get too worked about that. As I understand it, that was the name of someone in the prop department of 24 who decided to put his name on the phone.

I'm really missing 24. I hope they release some information regarding the prequel soon for the fans who have to wait an entire year for season seven.
I hear you there, but go back and watch the full trailer for some clues. It should be on the air around November (my best guess in time for sweeps). IMDB has a page for it, but since it is all in production I wouldn't say that is all the people we'll see, or if it is even accurate.

The "problem" actually started in day 2 whith the nuke story line. All though I loved that season because of it's complex and well written plot, I think the writers thought they couldn't go back to something smaller during the next season. So therefore the big-scale threaths were born and is for many viewers an important part of the show.
I always thought that season 4 was a great opportunity to go back to the smaller plot lines with the Heller abduction and trial. But that season did actually end up going the other direction.

I finished Day 3. Not that bad, but not that great either. Next up is either Day 5 or 6, with the latter being shown in syndication (Check your local listings).
For those of you who love the details-24 has a visual guide, with all of Jack's and CTU's gadgets, plus in an in depth look at all the characters and days, but there is an error in the book. The Soul Patch lives!!!

If Day 5 is up next, you're in for a treat - it's the best one yet.
If it's Day 6, you get to witness shark jumping at its finest.

Day 3 was, in my opinion, the second weakest season (though still very good).

Agreed. Here's hoping the creative gods of 24 don't rest on the seventh day, after nodding on the 6th.

It's a pity because, aside from Jack Bauer's Die Another Day-esque rapid recovery after spending months in a Chinese prison, the sixth season's first four hours are among the show's best. And even though the worst of 24 still trumps most of what's on telly, it's a total nosedive after its phenomenal fifth year.
