No deleted scenes--at least not yet in any event.

Now I'm a little pissed at myself for pre-ordering on Amazon.com. I'd've liked that Astin Martin.

The dinks at Best Buy misspelled "Aston Martin" as Astin M... I know, sometimes my spelling is pretty bad but if I were selling something, I'd spell it correctly.

Can't you cancel your order?

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the advent of the DVD format, and as I have collected DVDs over the past decade the bonus features have gone from the obligatory trailer and brief cast bios of the mid- to late-1990s to the full-blown Ultimate Editions as packed with goodies as humanly imaginable of today.
So, it's bewildering that Sony Pictures should release a 2-disc widescreen edition of the excellent action thriller "Casino Royale" so devoid of truly special special features as to be embarassing.
What we have on the second disc is two documentaries that originally aired on British television. With both running just under a half-hour the first, "Becoming Bond" details the road to the 21st official James Bond movie and the second "James Bond: For Real" is an examination of the philsophy behind the 007 team to do as many stunts as possible - for real. While both are more in-depth than some of the other promotional fluff that can pack a DVD, neither of them are particularly enlightening to anyone who was following the at times convoluted production of this movie.
However, what is truly a smack in the face is the inclusion of "Bond Girls Are Forever." Sony slyly bills this as a 2006 production but in reality it's the 2002 documentary hosted by former Bond girl Maryam D'Abo that has been shown numerous times on AMC and was even offered by one retailer as a bonus disc with a purchase of the previous movie "Die Another Day." The only difference is the inclusion of two brief interviews with the two most recent Bond girls Eva Green and Caterina Murino and an edited narration that notes the fact that there are now 21 films to the series.
Rounding out the extras is the Chris Cornell music video and several trailers for upcoming Sony releases (that's right the trailer for "Casino Royale" is nowhere to be found).
The movie is well worth watching, and if you are looking for a fun, entertaining action adventure then this is the DVD for you, but if you like your DVDs to include all manner of behind-the-scenes material then you will end up sorely disappointed.

"trailers for upcoming Sony releases"
I can't, for the life of me, understand why they didn't install the CR trailer.

Aaah. Now I get it. Why advertise the DVD on the DVD?Sony-think: You've already bought Casino Royale, why should we waste valuable resources putting a trailer on this disc? We'll use the space to show you other movies that we are sure you will buy - no matter how completely unrelated they may be to your current selection. Beep.

Well said, DLibrasnow.

Well you do get the PREMONITION trailer, the PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS (yes it is spelled that way) trailer, the SPIDERMAN 2.1 trailer, ROCKY BALBOA trailer, the HOLIDAY trailer...etc etc
So, what's not to love -- a lot.

When something doesn't make sense, change your perspective to 1)who can get money out of this angle, or 2)who saves money by doing it this way.Aaah. Now I get it. That's why the play was called Julius Caesar despite the fact that he is killed by the third act and the story is really about Marcus Brutus. Everyone in Shakespeare's time knew who Caesar was and might go to a play in his name. But Brutus? No way, so slap the popular name on the play and cash in at the box-office!

Anyone know if there will be an extended DVD edition of Casino Royale with extra footage?
Nothing has been announced, but many of us are hoping we'll see one eventually (perhaps around Bond 22).
I would absolutely love a director's cut.
