I've still only the seen the first 4 seasons on DVD. Going to buy no 5 soon.

Does Mandy ever come back after Season 4? She's a really interesting character.

My brother tells me there having a film of the show next year instead of a new season. I can't imagine it being as good as the 24ep format though.

You are in for a treat. A lot of people consider Season 5 to be the best of the series (so far). Be prepared, once you start watching it, you may lose a day or two out of your life watching the entire season very quickly. :cooltongue: Mandy hasn't made a comeback since the immunity deal she cut in Season 4. I do agree, she was an interesting character. On the movie, the last thing I heard was that plans for it were put on hold for now.

Truth be told I've only seen seasons 1&2 and some parts of season 4. I got into 24 when I was flipping through the channels one night and saw Jack Bauer infiltrate a submarine and stab a guy in the throat with a knife. I have no idea what season it was from but it was too cool. So I then proceeded to lose four days of my life watching season one, then after recovering from the very sad finale I carried on to watch seaon two...losing another 4 glorious days. I plan on buying season 3 soon. But back to tomarrow nights episode............looks good. :cooltongue:

According to google, if you ask what makes the best cougar bait, the name Kim Bauer does not pop up. Tragic.

Sad to see the critics turning on this groundbreaking--and still-terrific--show. Now Heroes is the new darling of McPaper and TV GUide. This 24-hour day hasn't been consistent and maybe it has suffered from raising the bar so damned high in the past. But I still expect this final arc to pack some major pow. And I think Kiefer and the creative team will pay close attention to reactions to this season...and next year take us, by our throats, to surprising and dangerous new terrain.

Heroes is good, but I would pick 24 over it any day. I actually record Heroes every week while 24 is on.

I wanted to add something. I would not expect Mia Kirschner back as Mandy anytime soon. Rumor has it Carlos Bernard during the 4th season played a practical joke on her that got out of hand-and her ticked off. SInce he is no longer on the show, she would be great as a player in the film. And speaking of the film-the story would take place over 24 hours, and involve Jack kicking @$$ in other countries for a change. You know, if Audrey was really dead, Jack going to China and getting vengence on her killers would RULE. I mean, who wouldn't pay to see that? To catch seaon 5, just tune into A&E weekdays at 8 AM Eastern, and 2 PM Eastern, as day 5 has just started. Just a heads up.

I have never been swayed from watching a TV show, reading a book, or seeing a movie because of a critic's review. The movie Titanic was panned my almost all critics at the time & that only went on to be the biggest grossing movie in history. Heck, the Fox Network may not even have existed if the critics had their way. Remember those classic programming hits like Parker Lewis Can't Lose & Herman's Head? (of which, I can proudly say I watched both shows :cooltongue: ) Let the critics move to the new flavor of the week like a moth goes to a flame. I do like your thinking on next season heading into dangerous new terrain. That would be a welcome surprise.

Well that was a good episode. Jack gets shot, Doyle (I hate him) blows his cover, Audrey is brainwashed, and Buchanan is gone! I'm sure Bill will be back (I hope..) and unfortunately it would appear (judging from the preview) that there is yet ANOTHER mole. Next week should be interesting. :cooltongue:

I love these guys! What the heck have they done to poor Audrey? Plot twist upon plot twist. 24 is back in form.

This is definitely shaping-up for a wild ending. The helicopter going down looked a little more spectacular in the previews a week ago (although, the do only have one helicopter that they reuse so it would be tough to completely blow it up).

As I understand it, the movie won't be instead of next season. Filming is scheduled to commence in the gap after Season 7 (and before Season 8?) Lots of 24 next year!! Shooting locations are planned in the United Kingdom, Prague and Morocco (allegedly to double for Afghanistan).

24 does not "run out of gas", it simply changes its track of the story line. It has been done before in previous seasons.

Did anyone else think at the end that the CTU guys were gonna kill Audrey to get her out of her crazy state?

Chloe pwning Morris was harsh as hell but hey thats what Chloe's all about. Jack giving Doyle crap for ruining his plan was priceless though.

One thing that I sure felt at the end of this episode was poor Bill Buchanan.

Farewell, Chiggy. You were the best CTU Director ever.

It's amazing he hasn't been killed yet. I hope he doesn't get killed.

Sorensen being a jerk. No surprise there.

RE: The Mole. If you take all the clues-you should figure it out.

Was anybody gagging when Lex Luthor (Daniels) and Ann Coulter (Lisa Miller) smooched? I don't know about you, but I nearly hurled.

That was awful. I was hoping that there wasn't going to be a mole this season, and I think I know who it is, but I'm really going to miss Buchanan. He was a good character.

Well put. The battle now over the component is still connected to the nukes, so it's not as if this is an entirely new track. Or a novella and a short story packaged together. It's still one story. And this kind of inventiveness is what keeps me comin' back.

I am interested to see who the interim CTU director is gonna be. Nadia does not have enough gravitas and authority to be in that role. Personally I think Chloe should be the new director. She would defintely bust some heads. I am sure they will be some crazy twist with who they bring to be the new director. Maybe Chase with a hook for a hand?

The CTU director is always somehow injured or removed.

Hope Bill returns, I liked the man.

Erin Driscoll for new CTU director. It's been years since her daughter died and lets face it... she's dealt with Jack screwing up before.

Thats my bet.

Maybe all of this is a test for Jack set up by his Dad, who has plans in place and he just wanted to make sure Jack was up for the challenge?

No offense Nimsworth, but I could not stand Erin Driscoll when she was CTU director. I don't know what it was, but she got on my nerves.

Does anyone watch the commentaries on the DVD's? I just watched a Season Two ep with Tony Almeida, Kate Warner, and Lynn Kreski doing the commentary (the actors though, obviously). Not the most insightful stuff, but it's less demanding on the viewer than watching a film commentary because it's only 45 mins a time.

I've listened to some of the commentaries & I agree with you -- most are OK but they are short. I tend to like the behind the scenes featurettes with Jon Cassar. He always seems to have interesting information on the creative process on the show.

Oh believe me Hawk, she annoyed the hell out of me as well. I just think it'd be cool to see everyone who F'd with Jack brought back. I mean the poor guy cant get a break can he. First Cheng Zhi rains on his post suitcase nuke parade now Doyle crashes his mission.

Driscoll would be the icing on the "Screw with bauer" cake
