I don't know if anyone has already posted this, but here's thought...what if Josh Bauer is really Jack's son? Just a thought.

I think every single person on the planet who watches 24 has assumed this is the case. It'll be the most boring and obvious "twist" in 24 history if it is revealed he's Jack's son. Seems they're setting this up for the finale though, after Heller showed up to tell Jack everyone he touches ends up dead. Well now Jack can prove him wrong by saving his "surprise" son.
Anyway, great episode. A classic nonchalant out of the blue death of a major character, as only 24 can do. I guessed that the Bad Guys ™ raided CTU to kidnap Morris to get him to fix the circuit board, I thought that's where they were going with Morris' character arc, after he had that spat with Chloe about him being a coward. I'm still expecting a "Morris proves his worth" scene before the season's out though. Wouldn't rule out a "Morris sacrifices himself" scenario either.
As for Chang, I want to see a real-time death by strangulation with Bauer choking the life out of him. My God, he is easily the most despicable character to appear on 24 ever, making Nina Myers look like a naughty schoolgirl. And what have we here at the end, Chang is apparently chummy with Dad Bauer? This might cast a whole new light on why Jack was imprisoned in China.
So yeah, this was a fantastic episode, it looks like they were holding everything back this season for the final few hours!

I think Graem mentioned that it was in fact them who handed Jack over to the chinese earlier this season.

Yes I remember something like that, but I don't think we've got the full story yet, I'm guessing there's going to be a further revelation about all that from Dad himself.

I'm interested to see where this whole thing with Jack's Dad goes. He probably thought he was doing his son some good by having the Chinese torture him for so long. That'll teach him.

Graem did mention this early on but the details conveniently were left out. Hopefully we get the blanks filled in in the last few hours.

About last night...Was anyone else troubled by Morris' Lost Moment? Here we have a man who's been haunted by a moment's weakness. So what happens when he finally gets the chance to be a hero? The scene is shot long distance and cut before we see what happens. Then, to further the insult, we see no more of Morris until the very end. Judge the writers and director this time guilty of high treason.

Good point dodge. I hadn't even noticed this until you mentioned it now. Looking back, it seems the moment was more focused on Nadia than anyone else. Maybe trying to ease her guilt a little about Milo? Morris did have a nice exchange with Nadia when the Division guys showed up. His tone seemed much more positive than it had been in the previous episodes. The previews for next week look good. Looks like they have been saving some of the budget so they can go out on a bang.

Another solid "this is filler for next weeks EXPLOSIVE EPISODE!" episode. But Christ did they screw up some things. dodge hit the nail on the head regarding Morris all of a sudden growing a pair of sizeable gonads and taking on Cheng's goons!

I'm always a fan of the old "unknowing female traitor in the Presidents Cabinet" attack the guy she's sleeping with be it by Wine bottle to the head or just a stab with scissors like in Day One.

Nice touch of Morris covering Milo's dead body. Now it's only down to Jack, Kim and Aaron Pierce as people still alive from Day 1.

Am I the only one who loves hearing Vice President Deadwood do that tone of voice that says "Dont talk to me like that or I swear to God I will nuke you're country". Suvarov seemed like a bit of prick here too.

Lastly Jack really needs to be able to tell people to take a message for him when he gets called to the phone cause nothing good ever comes from it. First he gets kidnapped by the Chinese, now Boy-Kim gets abducted by Doyle. If theres a call for you Jack get someone to take the message and go about your business.

The finale will make or break this season. I'm going to go with break since most of you have described the two hour finale as DIE ANOTHER DAY...

As far as last nights episode goes, it was good, but not as good as last weeks. With regard to Morris growing a pair, after he jumped the guy, what happened to him? One minute you see Morris and Nadia wrestling 2 guys, the Jack caps the one Nadia is fighting. After that you don't see Morris again. Did I miss something there?

No, you didn't. That annoyed me too! We knew Bauer and Nadia would have no problem taking care of business, but I wanted to see Morris snapping a neck and reclaiming his manhood. Alas, it was not to be.
Finale will be like Die another day? Hmm, looked more like Diamonds are forever to me! Looks good though.

Hmm not sure if this is referring to the same thing, but I said that one element of the plot in the six mini episodes to be made between seasons 6 and 7 was reminiscent of DIE ANOTHER DAY. The finale itself is much better than that from what I understand!!

Yes they had an ad for that mini-episode business in last week's ep. Looks interesting, I'm sure we'll find out more about those on Monday.

I just can't wait for this season to be over. It needs to be taken out to pasture and shot so they can start over with a new day. This was a terrible season, I'm afraid. I love the show, but man.. this was just bad.

The producers are talking about making some huge changes for next season(s). Apparently this is why the the original plot was aborted so early this season. I hope this is the case. Since season 3 the show has been a roller coaster of crap and greatness. 4 was not so hot, 5 was awesome and one of the best, and now 6 is probably the worst of them all. The problem is how much they rely on cliche and overused plot devices. This season is more or less a rehash of all the other seasons combined. There has to be some changes because as much as I love the show, I can't take another season of this crap. This could be the last for me. I wouldn't mind. I can Netflix it later on DVD or something. Heroes is obviously the better show now (same time slot) and unfortunately for me, I don't have a dual-tuner DVR.

That's a bit dramatic, innit? Did we give up on Bond just because of one TWINE or a DAD (or insert your least favorite Brosnan outing here)? S6 isn't shaping up to be one of my favorites either, but even a ho-hum season of 24 is a better proposition than 99% of what else is out there on TV (The other 1% is THE SHIELD, if you were wondering :cooltongue: )

No, I don't think I am. I'm being outright honest here. A "ho-hum" season of 24 was Season 3, if you ask me. I'm fine with that. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either. 6 is terrible. As far as Bond goes, well it's entirely different medium (with different avenues as well), but regardless the film producers saw the problems they had and they rectified it with Casino Royale. All I'm asking is for the producers of 24 to do the same. Identify the problem, acknowledge it, and push to rectify it. Perhaps I'd agree with you about this if I were in the minority, but I'm not. Even the show writers acknowledge this year has been pretty bad for the same reasons I've stated, which is why they've been talking big changes starting with the next season.

As far as good shows go, well I admit there is a lot of crap. Some of the better television shows are in some slumps of their own. Battlestar Galactica for one. Great show till this recent season. The Shield is indeed awesome, as is Heroes, and Lost. 24 always has potential, which is why I keep watching but this season just fell flat (the last couple eps weren't bad though - things have been better since Fayid died).

Bump and stuff. I love 24, have been since 2001...This season has been a pretty good political thriller, better then day 4 and 5(that's right, I said it. Day 5 is horribly overrated); but only a few interesting characters came out of this season. Noah Daniels, Mike Doyle, Nadia Yassir, and Tom Lennox-Who will hopefully be in day 7.

I have liked Mike Doyle and Tom Lennox this season, but I still think that season five is much better!! From various media reports, it seems that season seven will lead to a big overhaul of the programme, meaning that only Jack will return out of the current cast - but guess we shall wait and see!

Hmm, it'd be a shame if its only Jack who comes back next season, we already had the huge purging of the supporting cast last season with David Palmer, Tony, and Michelle all bumped off in quick succession. Hopefully season 7 will have Bauer leading his own hand-picked team of people he can trust, with Chloe, Mike Doyle, Nadia (gotta keep the budding non-romance between those two!), and some other new guy who will turn out to be a mole.

And Noah Daniels must be president next season, Powers Boothe has been fantastic ("We're gonna go to war over a piece of circuitry?")

I just remembered this, did anyone else find Lennox's "And they're finally done" line hilarious? Seldom do we laugh during 24 but this had to have been the funniest line of the season, and the delivery was perfect. :cooltongue: I'm so pissed I'm going to miss seeing the finale when it airs (baseball game). Thank god for TIVO.

So South Park did their take off of 24 & the Simpsons did theirs tonight. They nailed it right down to the oh so expected mole inside CTU -- the Counter Truancy Unit. I also noticed that Kearney owns his own Tuxedo! :cooltongue: Very funny!

Mstt, I got a chuckle out of the Lennox line.

What were your impressions Vauxhall?
