Quite a lot of information has been added to the page on Wikipedia but be warned there are several spoilers if you haven't seen the end of Season 5. A couple of new characters will be played by James Cromwell and Peter McNicol. It was also previously announced that Eddie Izzard would feature in the series, but his appearance has now been cancelled.

at this point of the year, between seasons, I always wonder if they can possibly improve (something which was easily done after season 4, the worst in my opinion) but in the case of season 5, which culminated in what was one of the greatest 24 scenes ever where Jack "broke down" in front of evil president logan I honestly doubt they can top it. a challenge I hope they pull off and prove me wrong!!

I don't know whether I like wayne as president, just seems like an easy way out when they could have introduced a new chatacter, I really liked the (false) rumour that they were creating a president styled around JFK, in a similar way that Logan's corrupt character was alike nixon.
The new season does look impressive, but we'll have a few months to wait to see if there's substance to back it up.

Some shades of beginning-of-DAD here with bearded caveman Bauer after a stint in an Asian prison. Looks fantastic and intriguing.
I wonder what happened with Eddie Izzard...I did have a pet theory that he'd be playing Jack's evil brother who would be the major villain this season (based on nothing more than Eddie and Kiefer looking a bit alike, and the fact that Jack's father appears this season).
In conclusion, Chloe is hot.

Boo to no more Tony Almeida and his constant look of pissed off-ed-ness.

This looks to be real exciting, and just how Wayne becomes President is anyone's guess. Mine, is that Logans VP made him VP when he became Pres, then Logan took out his old VP, and Wayne is the Pres.
Powers Booth has also joined the cast, James Cromwell plays Jack's dad
As far as Chloe-I'd put a hurtin on that bitch!

I'm pissed it's not January NOW

DAMN!
Probably Wayne just got the sympathy vote because his brother was killed, and had 'name brand' recognition (e.g. RFK, George W. Bush). I think there's been a significant amount of time between seasons 5 and 6, enough time for a new presidential election...just look at Jack's appearance.

I really wish he had somehow escaped from Chinese prison though - that would be MAJORLY AWESOME!
Getting traded for or bargained for is kinda lame, imho.
I know that internal politics is a staple of 24, but I really hope they tone it down a notch.
More Jack, less crap!

Yeah, I wonder if the villain turns out to be a diamond-hoarding British billionaire with a secret identity...! Not much chance of an ice palace in Los Angeles though.

No, no ice palaces. But even now we can see a lot more change in Jack than we did in Brozza after lockup in Korea for about the same length of time. Sure hope they run the show back to back with Prison Break again. Monday nights will rock again.

The first four episodes of Season 6 of 24 have appeared online. One word - awesome. Sometimes I struggle to comprehend how the makers of the programme have manage to better everything that's gone before. From what I've seen, they've done it again. Be prepared for the usual plot twists, and one of the most graphic killings ever by Jack...
Where did you see them?

I just did a quick search & saw the links for them. It's a shame these are out before the TV premier (I'll skip my "how worthless copy protection is" rantThe first four episodes of Season 6 of 24 have appeared online. One word - awesome. I did hear some preliminary reports that these episodes rock -- thanks for the confirmation Vauxhall.

After watching these four hours I cant believe how wrong I was.
Theres a great "blink and you miss" cameo in there for fans of Extras and The office UK as well.

Could you clarify just one thing, please? One report claimed that the first two hours were rather slow, in comparison with past seasons--but then, by the end of night two, things took off. Any truth to this? How's the pacing?
