In regards to Josh Bauer, I think that you may be right hcmv007 but I sincerely hope you're not! I think it would be better for the writers not to give an explicit answer either way, and just let the viewers decide for themselves. Also would be quite a soap opera-ish type development.

I'm far behind, but absolutely hooked now. I've just passed the 9th episode of Season Two. Wonderful stuff. It's become the first thing I do when I get home from work. I think I'll probably have finished the whole season by the weekend and I only started on Sunday.
It only gets better.

A quick word of advice. Unless you're up to speed on 24 stay away from fansites, blogs, news articles, DVD reviews, wikipedia or ANYTHING 24 related as they all have MASSIVE spoilers.
ESPECIALLY wikipedia that ruined something that happens in Season 5 for me when I was watching season 3. Get up to date first!

Introducing a family that was never mentioned once in the 5 previous seasons seems a little 'jump the shark tank' to me. Especially when it is the evil mastermind from before and his hot wife apparently 'knew' Jack before they got married. And the boy sure takes after Uncle Jack!Is Season 6 running into trouble? Last night's episode left me feeling apprehensive. As in: Just a bloody minute here--Jack's brotherwas the evil mastermind...Jack never had a clue...but suddenly shows up bro's house, socks him in the face and then proceeds to torture him, as if he'd known all along????????
May the Power of Bauer preserve Season 6...but that whole business seemed pretty hokey to me?
Anyone see it differently? Why?
I'm not sure if Jack knows his brother was behind the whole thing. Maybe there's another reason he's torturing him. A lot of questions in that last episode (hour 5)...
Glad it's not just me. I've been one of the strongest supporters of this show from the get-go, hallelujah-ing their boldness, inventiveness and sheer narrative skill. It's still early in the season, but I thought the last episode sagged and I'm really bothered by the whole evil brother connection. The writers have admitted it never once occurred to them before the present season. Their ongoing effort to top their past work can only be applauded. But they've really stepped in it this time...so far.

If Jack didn't know Graem sold him out-he does now! He all but hinted that while taking him to their Dad's office, and for sure after they were double crossed by the security guards.

In my book, there are two sure-fire ways that a show jumps the shark. First, the musical episode. Second, bring on Jack's evil twin brother ala Michael/Garth Knight from Knight Rider. Since we haven't hit those yet, we are in the clear.

Jack on the other hand pays for his mistakes and takes it like a man and spends 20 months in a chinese prison.
Graem on the other hand is willing to kill his Dad and brother just to avoid prison.
Thats the difference beetween the Bauer brothers.

As for Jack, he gets out of Chinese prison, hasn't spoken in 20 months, starts talking, won't stop and rest, call the fam, just goes, cleans up, cuts his own hair, starts back on the 24 hour clock. I don't get it. Unless they're lampooning heroic fiction. Then I don't get it. I really like the creative people behind the show but 24 sux.

Then why come into a thread dedicated to talking about it?

At the end credits promoting the next episode, a energetic voiceover quiped that 24 will return at the new time of 10.30pm Wednesday. Are they serious!
The network promoted the series with enthusiasm, and putting two double episodes in one week. The sudden dropping of the ball has me wondering if this great show will last on air. Appalling.

Ricky Schroder has joined the cast of 24. Yes, THAT Ricky Schroder from MYPD Blue, and Silver Spoons
He plays a CTU Agent. Read the article on the 24 homepage

We are still early on in the season so we have a lot of time to see how it plays out. Given the real time format of the show, it's hard to introduce elements that don't have a bearing on the immediate story. If you think back at the other seasons, how would Jack just bring he had a brother -- in causal conversation between gun fights or just call to say hello? It would just seem out of place. (I could be more specific but I'm avoiding spoilers for those who have not seen previous seasons -- you can all thank me later
).

What made the Garth Knight thing so hilarious was the fact that Hasselhoff's face was supposed to have been altered by plastic surgery...so, his evil twin wouldn't even look like him! Ok, I'm ashamed to have such knowledge.

I'm dissapointed Donald Sutherland isn't playing Jack's dad...and the world of '24' is becoming a little too small for my taste.

I'm even more ashamed to know this: The answer is that Wilton Knight had Michael Long's face reconstructed in Garth's image. I think to make-up for the inability to use his evil son to do good with the talking car. What made the Garth Knight thing so hilarious was the fact that Hasselhoff's face was supposed to have been altered by plastic surgery...so, his evil twin wouldn't even look like him! Ok, I'm ashamed to have such knowledge.

Back on topic, this week's episode does look really good. Hopefully, Graem will get what's coming to him. He was so smug at the end of the last episode when he showed his true colors in front of Dad Bauer.

Interesting to see what they're gonna do with Morris and am I the only one who can't wait for Logan to come back as the rumours say he will?

My one complaint: some really clunky dialogue. One example, and that's it: Graeme, Jack's brother, says to Dad that "Jack fell for the ruse." That was talking down to fans. 'Jack fell for it' or 'Jack bought it' would have been more natural. There was no need to point out that the ruse was a ruse. There were several other times when characters went on too long, not trusting us to catch on. Hey, 24 writers, we're quick on the draw--how about a little more respect?
Other than that, it's sweet to have the show of shows back.

Hey, anyone here watching Sleeper Cell: American Terror? I just started watching it the other day...it's definately a 24 inspidered show but it's on cable so it's R rated in it's content. It's also more reality based. They use the FBI rather than a fictional counter terror agency and the bad guys are Al Queda...pretty good stuff.

Yes, T. It's a good one, I had a thread about it last season. I'm happy someone else is watching.
