I have a strange feeling we're not going to find out what happened to Logan. The same way we dont know of the fate of Behrooz and President Keeler from Day 4 and same with Lynne Kreski in Day 2.

However as they did with Milo unless they confirm Logan's dead I wouldnt put it past them to bring him back in Day 8 or something when CTU needs him to find an email from three years ago or something.

Season 6 finale News!

Spoiler

Thanks for giving me the rest of Season 6's story. Now I'll know to avoid it.

No, I don't know yet. And neither do you. And why not get off your high horse and see what next week brings? They have no obligation whatsoever to tell a single story in a 24-hour day. They have a narrative obligation to tie the two parts up--and I'm confident they will.

"Why don't I get off my high horse?" Are you trying to tell me that I'm not allowed to complain about last night's episode, because everyone else loved it? What? I have to follow the crowd? If the name of the show is called "24" and we're told that each season represents one major storyline . . . then yes, I believe that the series is obliged to stick to one major story for the entire season.

Please don't tell me whether I can complain or not. My complaints may annoy you, but you telling me how I should react to any story annoys me.

If I hacked you off, I apologize. I put it in the spoiler fromat so that you wouldn't be forced to read it, but it is a POSSIBLE ending to what this season will deal with, that's all. I am at fault for not putting that, so my bad.

Behrooz-Unknown, but presumed dead
Keeler-Unknown
Lynne Kreski-Producers in Season 2 Commentary lead you to believe she is dead

Spoiler

Charles Logan-Worm Food, but we haven't been told that he is dead, now have we?

My favorite moment from this past episode-Jack telling STBDT to say hello to his little brother for him as he gets ready to raise the chains. Sorenson's (Doyle-check my nicknames post) "Damn Jack!" comment was funny too. Seems Player (Milo)seems to feel that Awana (Nadia) is digging on Sorenson by asking about his injury. Maybe she is just into getting tied up (If so, that would be awesome!). As I have stated before-I hope Cheng Zhi gets exactly what is coming to him-in the form of death by Jack Bauer.

That was an enjoyable episode. The nuke story seemed to be running out of steam & last night's episode explained exactly why there wasn't much left in it. I welcome this "change" in the story because this season was originally billed as something that had personal implications for Jack. The whole nuke plot didn't seem very personal to Jack. Maybe we will see the plot with his father wrap somehow into the Chinese storyline. I wouldn't mind seeing Jack kick that Chinese dudes butt. On the President, Wayne is like a fine wine -- his performance seems to get better every week. His deception on the nuke was magnificent.

Agreed. Till now he'd been the greatest weak link in the season for me. But now? Wow! An overshadowed president came into his moment of glory...and rocked. Hint to the writers: Time to bring back Daddy-o.

I agree, the nuke story line was running out of steam. Seemed a lot like the seaosn 4 plot in some aspects. Phillip Bauer is still around, so that is the last loose string to the nuke story line.
Before the end of the season, Jack's Dad will show up again, Jack will kill the Chinese guy, and maybe he will get back with Audrey. Unless, we see some kind of love triangle between Audrey and Jack's sister in law. Since he is Jack Bauer, the 2 women should have a fight to the death to see who gets him :cooltongue: !!!

Alright I have two very random questions. The first is: What is the name of the pain inducing poison Jack gives Graem to make him talk (the stuff Jacks dad killed him with). The other question is what is Jacks dads name? I can't remember and its starting to bother me. Thanks!

Hyoscine-pentothal is the poison and James Cromwell is the dude who plays Jack's dad Phillip Bauer... and Farmer Hogget in Babe.

Hey hcmv007, I was just wondering if you know for a fact that this is the mystery character or whether that was just an educated guess on your part? Everything I've read suggests that it may be undecided by the writers as of yet. Just wondering, thanks in advance :cooltongue:

It would be brilliant if Behrooz came back as a terrorist villain in a future season, who specifically plots to destroy CTU - he blames them for the death of both of his parents.
As for other MIAs - what about Martin Belkan, the would-be presidential assassin posing as a photographer from season 1? He was last seen fleeing after Bauer stopped him from killing Palmer. Never heard from again!

interesting to see Season 6 likened to Die Another Day - I think I can agree.

The impression I get is that 24 has outgrown itself by pushing the boundaries of plausability, this is not particularly unwelcome, even season 1 had plastic surgury, lesbian assassins among other things, but nothing which "upset" believability, now nuclear bombs going off in urban areas is convincing but overtly excessive when not coupled with a compelling and ON GOING plot, which season 6 has lacked since episode 5 onwards (since jack got "back to work" and got over his traumas in china in an instant)

now I am part of the camp who think Season 5 was among the best and I say this because Jack's pain at palmer's assassination and on-going struggle to clear his name / seek revenge came right back round from the first episode to the last when he confronted Logan. this ongoing drama carried some of the biggest shock plots and set pieces of the franchise's history and did not play back seat to them. on the whole, the series was well put together and left only a few, and deliberate, loose ends. it just makes me sad to see how clumsily those ends have been picked up by the following season.

Now, I have not avoided spoilers and I have reason to believe Season 6 will wrap up in much stronger form than it has done since the 4 opening episodes - and there's an interesting concept rumoured for the season's clif-hanger (rollover for spoiler: at the moment - writters are reportedly planning that the final scenes of Season 6 will feature jack driving away in the back of a car, in the company of a character who has been considered dead by viewers since a prior season!). many of the stories currently considered carelessly thrown asside WILL be returning to be addressed.

anyway, I agree that Season 6 is the Die Another Day of the series, and I hope that season 7 will be a down to earth equivilent of Casino Royale

Definitely. Good post. I'm not liking 6 at all. It started good and it's had it's moments, but it's been pretty painful. I thought for a while I had just outgrown the show, but I had the same feelings towards Season 4. Then Season 5 came along and it made me a fan of the series again. I get the feeling they didn't plan this season out at all and that's just why it feels so weak. Everything is just pretty much half-assed - characters, the plot, etc.

1 > 5 > 2 > 3 > 4 > 6
I think.

Anyone else wondering if Fayed is really dead? I keep thinking back to his hanging--where he had his hand at the chain, maybe between it and his neck...Remember Die Hard? The Psycho Russian Dancer Dude was similarly chain-hanged, but came back blazing at the end.

I think Fayed is definitely dead although good call on the parallel with the first Die Hard.

I don't think we're gonna have a mole this season, and although last nights episode was relatively slow, they needed to take a break. There were two huge gunfights two hours in a row. They needed to reestablish the plot. Next week looks to be amazing. Did I see a helicopter get blown out of the sky?!

Never too late for a mole! Nina Myers wasn't outed until hour 23 of the first season. Still time for either Nadia or Milo to pull a last-minute twist.
I thought Powers Boothe was fantastic this last episode, the glare he gave Palmer after being asked to resign was lethal. He needs to come back next season, imagine a stare-off between him and Bauer!!

One of the better "filler" episodes of 24.

THE GOOD
- Bauer to Wayne "YOU OWE ME"
- The way Bill calmly takes Chloe off the case cause he cant trust her
- Wayne's stroke and VP Deadwood slowly putting his letter of resignation in his pocket
- Is there anyone who doesnt enjoy the way Cheng Zhi says "MISTA BOWWWWAH"? AFter watching him in 24 every time I see his kid get kidnapped in Rush Hour I'll be all "Yeah well... thats what you get". I'm adding Cheng's "MISTA BOWWWWAH" to my list of 24 Guilty Pleasures the others being Mike Novick's [censored] eating grin at the end of Day 5 and Jack Bauer's "run up wall and snap neck" in Day 2.

THE BAD
- Its a filler episode of 24.
- Morris and Chloe got on my nerves a tad

Next week should be awesome. It's getting really hard to avoid spoilers so close to the end of the season.

True what you said about Nina...but Mylo? Chloe is a possibilty, I can actually picture her breaking down and crying after she is discover by Jack. I don't know. The mole certainly won't be Morris or Bill, so we'll see. I really can't for next week.

They do keep us talkin', even though we've had a few grievances this year. In a vast wasteland of predictable TV fare (anyone take a look at the new show Drive?), we never know what to expect on this show. These guys will do anything--and we love them for it.

I fear it will be the director of CTU himself. Which I dont want it to be, he is excellent. Something usually happens to them though.

I agree. By the way, did everyone here know that 24 season 5 is shown at 2:00 pm ET on A&E? Just found that out the other day. I normally can't watch it then because I have school, but seeing as its vacation week I was able to stumble upon it Monday afternoon. I believe it was the episode where Tony is saved by Jack (Curtis punching Mandy in the face was awesome! :cooltongue:). Anyway, just thought I'd give you the heads up.

Yeah, Season 5 I think actually starts today on A&E. Catch it at 8 AM and 2 PM Eastern. Saturday night on WGN (2 hours!) at 11:30 Eastern. They are on Day 2 there, and syndication has it at the start of Day 4.

Yes, you did & it looked sweet. From the angle they showed in the preview, it looked like the real thing too. The episode was definitely a slower pace & the events seemed to be more of a set-up for the final episodes. It's definitely much more fun when Jack goes rogue so it should be a fun ride to the finale.
