At least we still get to drive on the right side of the road in this country!

To pre-order the US boxsets from Amazon now, or wait and hope that some great deal like this comes along in a couple of months. That is the question.

Has anyone noticed the outer spine of the slip sleeve becomes unglued?.

I can't ever recall the Bond DVD releases in the US getting a buy one-get one free deal before.

I don't either. The best deal has usually been to pre-order from amazon or whoever the price competitor de jour may be.

Anyone have a better way to get a great price in the USA?

Indeed. DeepDiscountDVD is usually the best competitor in price.

Yes, but remember Deep Discount's 20% off sale will be 2 weeks after these sets are released, so if you can wait you can get them for $48 shipped. That's what I'm doing...

Is that something that they always do? If so, I can definitely wait - these boxes will be handed to my family to wrap up and put under the tree anyway!

A question to everyone:
What will be the best way to sell my current Bond boxsets - individually, in the boxes, or as a whole complete set?

Don't sell them! You might never get the tres cool menu art again. :)

If you are selling them, you're likely to get more money from individual sales, but it's much simpler and easier to sell them in one lot. And that's worth something sometimes.

I thought about selling my SEs as a way to partly finance my UEs, but soon found that I'd get next to nothing for them. One used DVDs and CDs shop offered me

Ditto. I've given my SEs to my son. That way I can always pinch one off him if I want to watch the older versions. :)

I sold them as three sets over the summer on Amazon Marketplace for a total of $400. It looks like the they can get you about $350 today, but who knows if anybody will buy now that the new editions have been announced (I sold mine in a day). I'd say it's worth it, though. You can basically get the new, better editions for free and have $100 left over!

Amazon Marketplace, hadn't even thought of that outlet, I was imagining taking a ton of pictures and putting together 3 ebay sales. I'll have to look into AM.

I seldom sell things (mostly because I'm very sure I want something before I buy it), but sold my Bond videos to partially fund the SE purchases and have never missed them. Therefore I'm probably going to part with the SEs to get the UEs.

I still have my Bond VHS collection in a box in the loft. It's worthless, but I can't bring myself to throwing it away. I have all the SEs, and will keep them. The UEs seem worth getting, especially for the older Bond films, so I will probably buy them one at a time as the mood catches me.

Currently it appears that in the US we'll have to buy them by the box. So I might as well start getting my SEs into the right boxes (I immediately put them in the 'right order') and see how to use Amazon Marketplace!

Has anyone noticed the outer spine of the slip sleeve becomes unglued?.

Have read about this elsewhere. Invest in a hot-glue gun, they don't cost much and if you have any vinyl album sleeves coming apart, they're good for them too - which is the reason I bought mine.

I would have thought that with the release of Casino Royale that these DVDs would not really need promoting but this week I received an email from the studio asking if I would be interested in reviewing advance releases of the Ultimate DVDs for the newspaper I work for.

Of course my reply was immediate. :)

Great idea, Mark. I'll have to pinch my other-half's glue gun. :)

They're being released in here by the end of the month, the whole case only (at least for the time being).

At almost 350 Euros, it's far too expensive. Hope they release it in smaller packs. Otherwise, that's one less buyer they have. :)
