I am very pleased we are geting these re-issued but with the exeption of a couple of the Roger Moore 007 movies the new covers look remarkably like the last issue..or even worse. The Connery ones are bloody awful...& the last issue the Dr No,Goldfinger,& Diamonds Are Forever ones were bad..but these are bad!!

So, with the "special features" that have been posted so far, about these Ultimate Editions, I have yet to find where it states which ones have been re-mastered?? I know that it WAS going to be mainly the older (Connery) ones...It would be nice to know which ones have been re-mastered with better picture/sound, in relation to the previous special edition versions....

Anyone out there know??

In fact, that still was always a promo photograph from TLD which was wrongly used for the LTK DVD cover. It is no finally in its right place.

If there are any other Aussie Bond fans out there, just letting you know that www.ezydvd.com.au now states that the James Bond Ultimate Collection in the attache case will be released on the 30th August and the price will be a VERY LOW (compared to the UK..) $399.83AUD...or, it is available in a Hard case, for only $299.83....Get it while you can I say!

I just hope that the Cover Art doesn't have those UGLY and HUGE ratings classifications on them!!

Yes, they really do detract from the covers in my opinion. Although, not really owning region 2 DVDs, perhaps they are smaller than the pictures make them appear to be.

$400 for 40 DVDs. DAMN GOOD PRICE!! And I guess that answers my question of wether or not the new post-Rebooted Bonds will match the other Ultimate Editions.

I just hope that the Cover Art doesn't have those UGLY and HUGE ratings classifications on them!!

Oh you know it will. I'm looking forward to a GIANT BLUE SQUARE on my copy of Licence To Kill.

Qwerty, It would appear that the region 4 will be exactly the same features wise etc. as the region 2?? It would make sense, with them being both PAL. I hope we get some official news about that soon, I would hate to buy the region 4 set, only to find out that the region 2 was the only one to have Goldeneye and LTK uncut etc.

Excellent news about LTK. I read the article, i had no idea there that many cuts. Now all we need is TND uncut.

Yes, if you are from the UK, the Pounds to Aussie dollar conversion, is VERY enticing!

I may be incorrect, but wouldn't those DVDs on the ezdvd site be in Region 4, when the UK is Region 2?

Yeah, but region 2 and region 4 play on the same players....I have bought PLENTY of DVDS from amazon.co.uk, and they all play fine, even on my x-box....anyways, most people now have "multi-region" players too...So, getting DVDs from another country/region, doesn't pose too many problems these days Qwerty..

True, that does make sense. I just wasn't sure how different those two region 2 and 4 DVDs were.

But why would this matter anyway. Region-free players will play DVDs from any country or region.

If the attache case is not offered in the US I certainly plan on getting the Ultimate Edition DVDs from Amazon UK. There are so many of my favorite movies that are only on release in Region 2 or Region 4 that I would hate to have a Region 1-only DVD player.

col_007, I can send the Web site for an Australian DVD store that does ship overseas. I have had great success with them in the past.

I am new here and don't want to step on any toes...All I was saying was that if someone wanted to buy the Aussie region 4 release of these, purely for what would appear to be a better price than region 2...Then the region coding shouldn't be an "end of it all" problem... .

Obviously most people in England will undoubtedly buy their local release anyway..and, as for the "Yanks", well, I am sure you will no doubt get these titles before the end of the year...

Indeed, I see your point.

I expect, if one didn't have a region-free player, such a problem would arise if it was a case of Region 1 vs. 2 encoding.

I have just received news from a friend and former colleague that the US release of these DVDs is still up in the air. Apparently, Sony HT are still 50/50 on whether to release the Ultimate Editions in the USA at all, and hold off for Blu-Ray early next year. This would coincide with the Casino Royale DVD.

I will keep you all aprised of any further developments, but for now, the advice was to buy the Region 2 discs.

whats this rumor i've heard about DN-GF not getting 5.1? If they aren't, I will be PISSED. Otherwise i plan on buying all of these DVD's. Its a shame that the US doesen't sell them individually though.
