You can hear clips from the Zimmer/Howard score for THE DARK KNIGHT here:

The Dark Knight Soundtrack

I am sorry but this is still a below par score like the last movie, repetitive and dull.

Judging from the clips, I'd agree with you. Much of it sounds like it came straight out of BEGINS (which had a terribly generic and forgettable score).

I'll have to agree for the moment.

I am interested in hearing all the tracks in full duration, especially the two note theme for The Joker. I know Ledger has put down a downright scary interpretation on screen, but I'd like a little bit of zaniness and eccentricity in his theme. Elfman did it with waltzes, which in my view were perfect for the Joker.

I am dying to see Batman's interaction with the Joker. That definetly what they have shown the least in these ads.

It just keeps looking better, I think TDK will be a better film than Begins. The Joker most certainly makes Ras Al Ghul look lightweight, that’s the joker up Nolan’s sleeve this time around, a classic villain – played by Heath Ledger no less.

This is a review that I will label legit. The user 'mtdogg' gives spoilerific replies in the following pages of the thread as well.

There are many, but here's some promising comments I've extracted:

Spoiler

TDK sounds amazing!

I don't buy it personally. It sounds like someone with an overactive imagination who covers up their mistakes with "oops you're right, I forgot!" or doesn't describe some scenes because he doesn't want to ruin the surprise yet reveals other major details.

Apparently there's some other details that can disprove the validity of the review that some of the people I trust in the Bat-fan universe know but aren't sharing.

TDK's box office looks like it will be enormous.

http://weekendgross....emely-well.html

81% of male moviegoers and 66% of female moviegoers polled June 10-15 intend to see THE DARK KNIGHT opening weekend. 100% of ticket buyers polled were aware of TDK's release this summer, compared with 49% of ticket buyers three weeks before THE INCREDIBLE HULK and 36% of buyers three weeks before IRON MAN.

THE INCREDIBLE HULK muscled its way to a $54.5 million opening, while IRON MAN bowed with $98.6 million. The biggest opening of all-time was last May's SPIDER-MAN 3 with $151.1 million, a number I expect THE DARK KNIGHT to possibly challenge on July 18th.

Rolling Stone review...

http://www.rollingst...the_dark_knight

Well judging by some of the details in that review, the RottenTomatoes guy just might be telling the truth.

EDIT:hmmm actually maybe he still wasn't telling the truth. The author of the RS article tells us to forget that little tidbit that the RT guy mentioned. At this point, I don't really care who's telling the truth and who's not; I just want to enjoy the movie.

From that review it seems this film will be the film to change the genre, I maintained Nolan hadn't made a bad film yet and it doesn't look like DK will change that.

This sounds incredible, comparing Bale to Pacino in GF2 just makes me giddy as a school boy. People have told me to calm down because I might be disappointed, well I don't think this is going to be a problem, the problem will be topping this from the sounds of it.

Not a bad word, I don't know RS well but I think they are known for not giving out ecstatic reviews like that to any old film, I take 3 1/2 stars is a great review for RS, cause it sounded like a 5 star one to me.

Ledger's posthumous oscar nomination could be a reality, it doesn't seem as unlikely if you consider Hopkins win for SOTL with Lector.

One thing for sure this will put to shame that awful SS & GL Blockbuster that we were subjected to last month.

I loved to see DK outgross KOTCS, it's not likely I know but if it did it would be marvelous.

The wait is becoming more intolerable, we don't get it until 25th July, swings and roundabouts I guess as we get QOS a week before the U.S.

Here is Rolling Stone's review of Dark Knight. It's going to be BIG!

Impressive review!

Made even more impressive by the fact that Travers merely liked, not loved, BEGINS (see his review here, where he labels BATMAN BEGINS "schizo entertainment," noting that it falls apart in the third act). So it would seem that to Travers, at least, THE DARK KNIGHT is a monumental improvement on its predecessor.

What really has me excited is the reviewer's claim that some of the action in the film rivals Heat, which is, for me, one of the greatest films of all-time, and one that I have not seen a recent film come close to touching, and one that I have never heard a reviewer mention in a review of a film not made by Michael Mann.

I've just had a thought, what if this whole 'not getting the Quantum of Solace footage' thing has something to do with the Joker! :(

Get the Joker to storm into EON, hang Broccoli upside down, and say into a tc camera "Every hour the trailer is not released, people will die'" :)

hahaha, excellent, but QOS is in trouble. I predict when the footage finally come, the backlash will begin, with many "unimpressed", "where's the story ?" "where's the character's devellopment ?" posts. It seems they have done a new LTK in more ways than one. They are welcome to prove me wrong !
