-I hope they don't cut the "Joker in the body bag" moment. Sounds great to me, and I don't want the movie to suffer just because he's deceased. It might play a little eerily now, but it'll be better for the film in the long run if it stays (assuming it's as good a moment as it sounds).

I agree. I hope there aren't edits to the film just because of Ledger's death.

The photos do look great!

According to BoF, the review is not legit, but the body bag scene is. Let's hope they keep it in.

Seconded. The Dark Knight looks like a brilliant movie... and it looks as if Ledger is a fantastic Joker, its just a shame he was taken from us so soon, because I think once everyone see's his performance, they'll be gagging for more.

Indeed, it is a tragedy. He was far too young with his entire life ahead of him. But, what a send off. If you gotta go, go with a smile!

I found something pretty cool, a Batman novel called Batman: Inferno which takes place a year after Batman Begins.

Here's the synopsis:

Gotham’s never been so scorching, the Joker’s never been more despicable, and Batman’s never been in such grave danger.

With more than thirty fires raging out of control across the city, Gotham is indeed a hell on earth. But torching the population is small potatoes for the arsonist extraordinaire known as Enfer. The pyromaniac’s mad masterpiece is Arkham Asylum, blazing like a Roman candle and engineered to provide the perfect escape for Arkham’s most infamous inmate, the Joker. But the dire situation goes from bad to beyond monstrous when the archvillain’s path to freedom leads directly to the Dark Knight’s cave.

The Joker believes in striking while the iron is hot . . . and now it’s never been hotter. After all, the diabolical villain has devised the ultimate joke: launch the mother of all crime waves, masquerading as the Caped Crusader himself! With Gotham erupting in flames and its #1 crime fighter fast becoming its #1 enemy, the burning question is: Who’s going to get the last laugh

Read more about it here:

http://en.wikipedia...._(Batman_novel)

This proves that the Joker survives the events of TDK and is locked up, which was basically a given anyway. I'm glad that the Heath Joker will continue to be a thorn in Batman's side in other mediums.

I was actually reffering to Ledgers performance as the Joker.

This suggests that Ledger's death may have been due to his obsession with the Joker character. You have to be either a brilliant actor or a psychopath to become that invested in a character you're playing...

Yeah. He put all his energy into that role by the sounds of it. He WAS the Joker. What a legend.

I'm doing my best to avoid spoilers, but I've gotta say: the trailers for this one have blown me away. And it has nothing to do with Ledger's death. From what I've seen this performance will be cinematic history--absolutely brilliant work. I'm far more excited about TDK, at this point, than about QoS.

I don't see Ledger in that trailer, I just see the sick, menacing and dangerous Joker. It looks like he will do some really stunning work in this film.

But let's not forget the other things that will make this film amazing. Nolan's steady directing, Bale as Batman/Bruce Wayne, the brilliant cast, the return of Scarecrow (how brief it may be), Harvey Dent etc.

This film may even top Batman Begins.

I think it will do that. Begins was good, but this will top it from what we've heard. Some say Begins was too serious, but I think a few lame jokes such as 'Nice coat', 'I gotta get me one of those' and 'It's a black tank' broke the atmosphere a bit.

Yeah, those one-liner didn't suit the dark and serious mood of the film. But other than that, Batman Begins was everything I ever wanted from a Batman film, so I won't get my hopes to high for The Dark Knight. It's hard to top the almost perfect.

It's generally the same feeling I have for Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace.

I'm not that fussed really. I'm satisfied that we will get a good movie, and don't want to see too much more.

Fair point. I wonder if they would actually want to draw attention to the fact that Two-Face is in this film--something that I would bet the average filmgoer who saw the first trailer has no idea about.

Me too. I want one that's a little more well-rounded in its look at the story of THE DARK KNIGHT. The story is so much more than just the Joker.

Harms, what's gonna happen to the Joker in Batman 3/7? I assume he survives...I think Micheal Pitt from the Dreamers

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0685856/

could take over. What do you think?

I don't think they're going to touch the character. I think they'll leave him alone as a tribute to Heath and write him out of any future installment.

"...some men just want to watch the world burn."

Great poster. The bright orange against the blue/gray hues make that bat logo stand right out. I'm sure this will be on my wall at some point.

Super duper awesome. I love it.

Also, I know I said I didn't like the batsuit before, but I'm warming towards to now. I was kind of put off initially because I was expecting something a little more, streamline I suppose, but I dig it now. Seeing it in that poster won me over.
