It's a bootleg, but it's good quality and is one badass scene.

Yes. He was.Not to minimize a tragedy, but was the Joker to be a recurring character in the Batman series?

There's no confirmation yet that it was drugs.I've been avoiding any kind of spoilers for the Dark Knight. Guess they'll have to somehow make due.
Stay off drugs, kids. It so ain't worth it.

I don't know what they'll do. Ledger's death is going to cast a big shadow over THE DARK KNIGHT, especially since this film was poised to be his big role.I've been avoiding any kind of spoilers for the Dark Knight. Guess they'll have to somehow make due.

A bit like Bruce Lee with Enter the Dragon, eh?![]()

Yeah, this film just became a little bit creepy! Taking a wild guess that The Joker gets killed at the end, that could be uncomfortable viewing for many. Kind of like The Crow, except Brandon Lee gets killed at the beginning, then comes back to life

Its going to be interesting to see how the marketing goes on from here; everything so far has been showing off how "dark" the film is. Well they wanted dark, and now they've REALLY got dark. No doubt they were preparing more creepy Joker viral marketing stunts. How are they going to handle that stuff now?

It will increase its popularity even more, I am sure. I think people will want to see it, who aren't necessarily Batman fans but may be Heath Leadger fans, or just out of a kind of morbid curiosity. The same way that The Crow continues to collect fans 17 years on.

I've got to say, I was not interested much in seeing The Dark Knight (there are several posts from me in this thread saying so). But now? I probably will! You're right Dave, the morbid curiosity factor has got me into it.
BTW I wonder if they had a Superbowl ad planned for this movie? Maybe it'll be scrapped or re-worked.

I wouldn't be surprised if Warner Brothers pulls the "Why So Serious?" posters. They're just too disturbing at the moment.

Terrible, unexpected news. I think that they will turn away from the Joker aspect of the film now. It will be sad to watch the film knowing Ledger is no longer with us.

I wonder if they will do that. You could argue they shouldn't change anything, so that it becomes a tribute to Ledger.

At this point, it would be an insult to Ledger to alter much of his performance in TDK; I mean he worked so hard on being convincing in the role. Being the professional that he was, I don't think he would want that.
With all due respect, the show must go on...
