I personally think Felix shouldn't be in it. I'd rather see Rene Mathis and I have no idea who I'd pick for that.

Okay, for Mathis I'd say Tcheky Karyo. He was in La Femme Nikita, The Messenger and The Patriot.

I don't know about him as Leiter, he doesn't seem the type after I saw him in GoldenEye, personally.

I have gutsy feeling that Eon will bring back Damian Falco as Felix Leiter. It doesn't make sense, even though I don't want it to happen, it might.

I dunno whether I dreamed this or something, but I remember before DAD was released that Michael Madsen signed for a 2 year movie deal with MGM. I remember their was some speculation or rumour that it happened. I don't remember if it was true or not.

Matthew McConaughey is perfect. He's tough and he's a good actor.

I agree about McConaughey. He'd be perfect for the role, and just the right age. In 2006, he'll be 37.

This is true actually. He's said a few times that he was supposed to do two films. I don't know if he was contracted for two. Anyway, if you remember a while back he made a few comments about Brosnan being out as Bond and said something to the effect of he's not sure whether he'll do another with Brosnan out.

I've posted these names many times before, but for the record:

Robert Patrick
Bruce Campbell
Heath Ledger (give him a few years, anyway)

Although I do agree with the notion that they'd prolly get someone relatively unknown for the role.

He could make an interesting, laid back styled Leiter.

I dont know why I didnt think of this before, forget Cusack, I have a new favorite for Leiter. He doesnt exactly fit the description from the Books (but not all of them have). My choice is:

William Petersen (Gil Grissom from CSI). :)

If Owen Wilson plays Felix, than you have to have Ben Stiller as Bond. So many opportunities....

I think the actor who will portray Felix Leiter should be based on how they want him to come across in the movie. If they want a Leiter who is kind of laid back but still can partake in some action I say go with Keifer Sutherland. If they want a more analytical Felix, I say go with William Petersen. My personal favorite is MacGyver, Richard Dean Anderson!

I'm not to sure about William Petersen. I'm hoping that he gets the part of John Clark when the film version of Rainbow Six comes out (which I hope is soon :`( :) ) Matthew McConaughey would be good but I still think that Casper Van Dien is the best choice to play Felix Leiter if we are going with the description that appeared in the Casino Royale book.

Matthew McConnaughey is Dirk Pitt, so it's unlikely to be him.

I think Luke Wilson's a good pick. He's like a cross between his brother and Tom Cruise. I love that line from Schwarzman to him in Rushmore: 'O.R. they?'

If there were ever a Bond movie where Bond runs into trouble with his genitals, than Ben Stiller should play him. He has experience with genital trauma.

I like the idea of William Peterson as Leiter. Good one. I've always thought that Richard Dean Anderson would be perfect, especially during the Dalton era, and early Brosnan era. He could still work. Somebody mentioned Robert Patrick, too. Cool choice, maybe in the Jack Lord mold. What about Rob Estes (Silk Stockings, played Mike Hammer one time)?

Bruce Campbell for Felix in 2006 :)

I love all this support for Bruce Campbell for Felix--that would be inspired casting. I've been advocating him for this for some time also.

For those Bruce Campbell check out the Evil Dead 4 thread in "General Discussion"--the movie is a go probably at the end of the year starring Campbell and directed by Sam Raimi.

I'd rather see him and his father, Donald Sutherland, as villains. Perhaps not for this film, but future films anyway.

I'm actually surprised at the showing of support I got for my suggestion of Petersen as Leiter. To add to it though, he's well known, but not such a huge name that he'd overshadow the man playing Bond. He has primarily been in movies but due to his recent success in CSI, I'm sure he's seen as a tv star at the moment, hardly going to overshadow whatever movie star they get for Bond (Clive Owen please :) ).
