It would be a real downer to leave Felix out of the story that introduced him as well as Bond. If it isn't a restart, then prosthetics have never looked better. If it is a restart, then hurray, he can be whole again, and we can see his true 'fate' in the Live And Let Die remake.

To leave him out altogether would be a sin, IMO.

I am all for the return of Felix Leiter. The prequel idea of CR sort of concerns me, if that is indeed the route they're going to take. In the "film world" of 007, Bond met Felix in "Dr. No".

I thought it was really weird in the Jack Ryan films that Ryan meets John Clark for the first time in "Clear and Present Danger", and then in the next film "The Sum of All Fears", Jack Ryan again meets John Clark for the first time.

You aren't alone in that...I was downright angry. If that happens with Bond, I might honestly walk out - go home and just have a marathon of the other 20 films to make up for it. I can't stomach another SOAF-style debacle. We'll see, guess I should just hope for the best.

And yes I would love Felix in Bond 21!

I wouldn't expect Leiter to return. Remember that CR (the movie) takes place when Bond is early on the job, and in the movie universe Bond first met Leiter in Dr. No. So to keep with the actual record of events and not totally kill the sequence of universal events like in The Sum Of All Fears, Leiter, dare I say it, SHOULD NOT RETURN.

This is a really messed up thought! Depending on how they go about CR, new beginning etc. If it is a new beginning than they definately have to! But if it is continuation tehn I like the idea of him returning with prosthetics. If I remember correctly he doesn't play too big of a role in the book anyway, at least not action wise, or in the sense he has to do any physically challenging scenes. I can for sure see Mathis appearing in the movie. But then again, we all know how drastically different the movies have been from the books. Hhmm, very tough queestion!

Yes, he should obviously return. Only a complete idiot would miss this opportunity to revive such an important character. In the Fleming novels, Leiter was easily the most important recurring character--certainly more important and well-developed than, say, M or Moneypenny. He was second only to Bond.

I have no idea why they stopped using him after LTK. Jack Wade was an abomination and Falco was pointless. Leiter would have worked in both cases.

Leiter should make a return. He's my favourite supporting character and he deserves a return. David Hedison (my favourite Felix) is too old to return, so what about Timothy Hutton (Oscar Winner and star of A Nero Wolfe Mystery)

i can honestly say, that if this takes place before the other films, felix lieter WONT be in it, not if they want it part of the same series n e ways, cuz he only meets felix in dr no (movie wise), so they prob will have mathis in it tho, wut a shame, another bond book, chopped up for the movies

Due to Colin Salmon's growing popularity, I would not be surprised to see Leiter supplanted by Robinson. It would be nice, however, to see Leiter's first appearance since Licence to Kill.

I quite liked David Heddison (Live and Let Die, Licence To Kill). He'll be getting on a bit now but he's my favourite. I always think if they bring back a veteren character it should be played by the actor/actress who did it the first time round.
