Has anyone mentioned John Malkovich?

I think he is a brilliant actor, especially in villain roles such as:
- Con Air
- In the Line of Fire
- Mary Reilly

My particular favorite was his role as a devious FRENCHMAN in Dangerous Liaisons.

I think he would make an excellent addition to the pantheon of Bond villains.

He could be an interesting choice, maybe a henchman? Welcome to the CommanderBond.net forums also.

Not that is should really matter at all, but as John Malkovich was the baddy in Johnny English, the Bond producers may wish to stay away from actors who were involved in this or the Austin Powers trio.

Reasons? One would be to negate any comparison made between characters or the actors' portrayal of related characters that would reflect negatively on their product.

"Gee, Malkovich was OK in Casino Royale, but he was a much better villain in Johnny English."

Didn't think of him before, I just wonder would his performance be compelling enough?

And welcome!

I think it could be. I admit that I haven't read Casino Royale, but judging from the descriptions from this thread Karyo would fit in the role quite nicely. I mean, he has played many complex and charismatic roles before in which he's been very compelling indeed.

And thank you, thank you :) Just don't mind if my English sucks from time to time :)

There's only one man for the part of le Chiffre...............Ron Jeremy.
Just kidding.

Actually John Malkovich has always topped my list for a Bond villian for years. He can be down right menacing and is a brilliant actor.

Ive always had a fondness for Jean Reno. Perhaps its the fan art concepts here that did it for me:007 Art

Just imagine him sipping that coffee in his villa just before he starts to castrate Bond.

Perhapes We could get Samuel L to do it, he already anounced he'd want to be in a bond movie and frankly, if brosnan were back that or Owen would be a pretty interesting movie i have seen much work bythe other contenders...Humph...

I think Jackson would be a great choice, especially if they wanted to shift the story to Le Chiffre trying to get money to start a revolution in an African country for a terrorist organization. It would move the emphasis away from Russia/Eastern Europe or a Middle Eastern plotline, but would still be topical and current.

I think that a good actor would be Anthony Hopkins. I saw his hannibal lector movies and thought at times that he had the right amount of charm and cleverness needed in a Bond villian at the same time giving you a chill down your spine. I would want him as a Bond villian.

Y'know, Mathis, you may be on to something. At first I thought Hopkins playing Le Chiffre would be a crazy idea, but when I checked out the picture you posted, I changed my mind. I could definitely see him in the role.

Yeah, Hopkins would do great. But I fear, he'll be too expensive for that role. In the last films they took some less known actors for the villains... at least not as well known as Hopkins, this means.

How about Jean Reno?

Reno doesn't seem like Le Chiffre to me, he'd make a pretty cool henchman though.

I think Stax's choice of David Suchet might be an interesting choice. Ian McShane too, I don't know though. http://filmforce.ign...7/607840p1.html

Thats a good read anyway. His choice for a possible new M (if not Dench that is) is perfect.

I think that Hopkins would be perfect. Yes he might be on the pricey side, but due to the fact that it might be hard to film they might benefit from getting good actors that REALLY look the part. I believe that because they are making a Bond actor switch (not having Brosnan) and that the fact that Broccoli and Saltzman thought before-hand that Casino Royal wouldn't be good for the movies they would be undergun to pull off a successful blockbuster. Die Another Day came out to O.K. views but if this film doesn't come to par i think that the attraction to the Bond movies will be lost. There are a lot of factors working against the workers on the film. Getting Hopkins in my opinion would really help out the francise.

That would be great, especially if PB did return! They had a few great scenes together in LIVE WIRE.
But, yes Silver could be a Bond villain.

I was thinking about this the other day and the name Andy Gracia came to mind. He has assumed the bad guy leader role before. He's an experienced and very powerful actor. I think he can pull off a very convincing bad guy for a Bond film someday.

Garcia is a good choice but I would prefer Ian McShane, Ian McLellen, Anthony Hopkins, Robert Dinero, (Dinero is now actually obtainable unlike the past)

Two actors who we missed were Yul Brenner (deceased) Peter O'toole and Omar Shariff(too old). Each of them would have made incredible foes for 007!

I don't know about De Niro playing the villian. I just get an image of his character in Rocky und Bullwinkle...
