21-25 years old...

A no-experimented villian, a young man starting his criminal carreer succesfully, very confident of himself.

What do you think?

Regards!!

I'm in the mood for an older one personally. :)

Gerard Depardieu is my favourite choice. Got the looks, can act and he's not British for a change...

Cubby always wanted Rutger Houwer as the villain, but in the 80s he kindly declined the offer. Perhaps in 06 (fresh off Sin City) he could be our le Chiffre?

Who do you think should play Le Chiffre? I've heard suggestions for Jean Reno, Gerard Depardieu and Rutger Hauer.

I personally think Daniel Day Lewis would be great as Le Chiffre.
He was great as Bill the Butcher in Gangs of New York and he can play almost anything. And it would be keeping with the tradition of a British actor fot the bad guy.

Ian McShane would make a fabulous choice. Great actor, great intensity!

It would be dead on perfect, but he would never do it. He would also be a lot of fun on the set. Mr. Method Actor. Imagine directing him during the torture scene. Imagine being the poor guy playing Bond in that scene!

I have never liked Rutger Hauer, and as Bond villian? No, and especially not at Le Chiffre!

I heard that MGM were pushing to have Jeff Goldblum play Renard in TWINE.

Off kilter, certainly, but I think he would make a great Bond villain. He is an idiosyncratic, recognizable but not stellar actor who could put a lot of nuance into the part.

I know he's not what Fleming wrote for Le Chiffre but I always thought it would be interesting.

Someone once suggested Leonard Nimoy as a possible Colonel Sun and again (in the Christopher Lee/Lotte Lenya counter-casting tradtion), I think he would make a good villain (although now a little too old and a little too worthy).

BTW, while Dan Day Lewis would make a great villain I always thought he would be dream casting to play Bond himself. Of course, that would never happen.

Seeing as how Daniel Craig will probably never get the role of Bond, what about him for Le Chiffre? Great actor who many have said would be a good villian but not a good Bond (although I disagree with the idea that he can't do Bond).

Bondesque, the trouble with Ian McShane is he was the villian in Cody Banks and it would make Bond look cheap to recycle villians for a kid spy movie.

I said in a few posts earlier that I wanted a young villain... Second thoughts I think an older villain will be better.

I agree with Jean Reno and add Jeremy Irons or Alan Rickman.

Bye :)

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, if Daniel Craig can't be Bond, then he should be cast as Le Chiffre. So yes, I would go along with your idea of Daniel Craig as the villian.

Reno doesn't seem like Le Chiffre to me, he'd make a pretty cool henchman though.

I think Stax's choice of David Suchet might be an interesting choice. Ian McShane too, I don't know though. http://filmforce.ign...7/607840p1.html

Thats a good read anyway. His choice for a possible new M (if not Dench that is) is perfect.

David Suchet would be an awesome Bond villian. Great pick. He just naturally seems like an evil crime boss, and all I've seen him in was "The In-Laws" where he plays a flaming homosexual.

I done a google image search for David Suchet and I realized he is actually pretty bald. Isn't as menacing as he was in The In-Laws(one on the right), where he looked kind of like Sean Connery. He played a good French man too.

He still looks like he would make a good Le Chiffre though, even without a wig.

Christopher Walken should play Le Chiffre, if Rutger Hauer is not available. Think about it, it's perfect. He's much older, and can do the father/son thing with Bond that we used to get in the olden days. Besides, Walken is always funny....even when he's not trying to be.

Sorry, sitting here watching the Best of Will Ferrell on SNL. The Devil Made Me Do This One.

In another thread somewhere on this site, I saw that someone had suggested Johnny Depp for the role of Le Chiffre. I think that he would be a great choice for the role, as he is a great actor who always throws himself into a role and delivers the best performance that he can every time out. I don't think I've ever seen a film of his in which he has not been outstanding, even if the rest of the film isn't that great. Just something to consider.

Perhaps a bit too young, but I've grown to really like some of his performances. I'd like to see what he could do with a Bond villain.

That was my initial reaction to that idea as well, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that Depp, with the proper wardrobe work and with his acting ability, could play up in age a couple of years. Even if he couldn't make himself seem older, he'll be 42 in a couple of days, which is on par with someone like Clive Owen or Daniel Craig, and is certainly much older than the Bond candidate who is in his early 20s.

Depp is cool, I wouldn't mind seeing him do a Bond villain. But I have Le Chiffre pictured in my head more like Orson Welles in the infamous Casino Royale. For me, whoever is chosen will be measured against that template.

I'd love to see Christopher Walken do another villain just because I believe he is slightly insane. But seriously, Walken is one of the best when it comes to bad guys as we all saw in AVTAK.
