I just re-read Colonel Sun. You know, it is only an average Bond book.
What is your favourite Zencat?

Just read Devil May Care, but haven't started anything else yet. Need to pick up the rest of the Young Bond series and read those. Or maybe more of the Titan reprints. It's nice to have Bond lit out there that I haven't touched yet. And one day I'll get to Just Another Kill.
does finsihing DMC want to make you read another Bond pronto to get the bad taste out of your mouth or does it make you want to stay away from Bond for a bit?

Perhaps it's because its downbeat attitude is too much like the current Quantum of Solace?Right now I'm in the middle of YOLT. This is my second go with this novel. For some reason it's harder for me to get through than the other Bond novels which I can easily devour in a couple of days. I'm not sure why this is so.

But that means the literary QoS is like, er, is like...Mamma Mia? No, that's not it. Secret Agent (from Maugham's Ashenden)? With Gielgud as Bond? Nope.
*sucks teeth*
I'll have to get back to you on that one. Ever regret starting a post?

I'd have thought this book would appealed to me, when I was younger I adored all things Japanese. I even took a year of Japanese language in High school, darned if I can remember any of that beyond ordering food, thank you, and you're welcomed.

Now if you'll excuse me I need to play the Mamma Mia, er QOS soundtrack again.

I really want to get a copy of the Bond Bound catalog, but the Fleming Publications site doesn't seem to be able to process my order (or return emails). Anyone know of other places to order it from?
Also, can anyone fill me in on the differences between James Bond- a man and his world and the new For Your Eyes Only book by Macintyre?

How strange. Other than the exhibit itself (and the For Your Eyes Only exhibition in London), I can only think of eBay as an option. It's a great catalogue - well worth tracking down.I really want to get a copy of the Bond Bound catalog, but the Fleming Publications site doesn't seem to be able to process my order (or return emails). Henry Chancellor's James Bond: The Man And His World is more of a companion to Fleming's books, with truckloads of information on each one. Ben MacIntyre's For Your Eyes Only: Ian Fleming + James Bond accompanies the London exhibition and looks at the ways Fleming's life intersected with that of his fictional creation (I just finished reading it - highly recommended, especially if you're unable to attend the exhibition itself). Both compliment each other very nicely. Also, can anyone fill me in on the differences between James Bond- a man and his world and the new For Your Eyes Only book by Macintyre?

So far so good. Hadn't expected much, but I'm kinda liking the book / idea so far.

So, I finally decided to give the young Bond a chance and am now reading the first novel in the series ; SilverFin.
So far so good. Hadn't expected much, but I'm kinda liking the book / idea so far.
I took a while for me to read these too. Silverfin convinced me it was worth the time and all the other books have been superior. Check out the Moneypenney books because they are, perhaps, even better.

I am now taking a break from Bond by reading Jack Higgins' The Eagle Has Landed which I am enjoying very much. Next on the reading list is Sir Roger Moore's autobiography which I am looking forward to reading very much.
