I always remember my grandparents and various uncles and aunties telling me he was the best 007 but at the time, (when I was 10), I loved Roger Moore, as I grew up with him as Bond.

The man in the books is Bond for me. Some times I picture the various actors, with perhaps Dalton and Connery being the most frequent, but mostly it's just a man not based on any actor in particular.
I know what you mean. I think this is something I do, when I know there is a new James Bond movie coming soon, eg. with CR, but we don't know which actor yet, then I have this generic 007 in my head, dark hair, tall, brooding.

When I was about 4 years old, I entered my cousins room and he was watching AVTAK. Of course he sended me out but I remember seeing Moore for short moment.
8 years later, in 2001, I read in the TV-guide that they would air FYEO at primetime. Wich other 20-year-old film would be shown on primetime? So I asked my parents if I could watch it. They said yes and my "never ending love" with Bond started.
It started by watching a movie starring R. Moore and even today I still see Bond in him, like in no other actor.

It's surprising to see where Lazenby ended up on your list...
First post. Here goes:
1. Sean Connery/Daniel Craig
3. Pierce Brosnan
4. Roger Moore
5. Timothy Dalton
6. George Lazenby
Having said that, I think they're all incredibly competent Bonds, and they all have their strengths and weaknesses. At the end of the day I would love any of them playing Bond.

Sean Connery.
Ursula Andress, Roger Moore, and Daniel Craig think so, too. You gonna argue with them?

There can only be one, and his name is Connery, Sean Connery. Nothing comes close to the original 007.
I couldn't agree more.

Roger is my fave, followed by Craig, Dalton, Lazenby, Brosnan and lastly, Connery.
Roger is just charming, I love all of his work.
Craig is absoloutly fantastic.
Dalton kicks tbh.
Lazenby didn't have time to develop his Bond, but I loved him in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.
Brosnan is quite awesome, a cross between Moore and Connery, his movies are weak though, not due to the lead actor, but the script.
Connery was good for about three movies, From Russia With Love, Goldfinger and Thunderball. I was talking to Sharpshooter earlier on today and I agree with him when I say that Dr. No is a good thriller. But it's not From Russia With Love by any means.

I think he's more like a cross between Dalton and Moore in Goldeneye, and a cross between Lazenby and Moore in TND and DAD. Not sure what was going on in TWINE.Brosnan is quite awesome, a cross between Moore and Connery, his movies are weak though, not due to the lead actor, but the script.

But now I discovered them and surprisingly loved most of the movies. And Bonds. I dont have a list. Its unfair for me to rank them because they're represent different sides of the character. I simply love them all.
