Connery just shades it for me, basically for his work on Dr No and FRWL. But I must stress that I love them all.

I always remember my grandparents and various uncles and aunties telling me he was the best 007 but at the time, (when I was 10), I loved Roger Moore, as I grew up with him as Bond.

The man in the books is Bond for me. Some times I picture the various actors, with perhaps Dalton and Connery being the most frequent, but mostly it's just a man not based on any actor in particular.

I know what you mean. I think this is something I do, when I know there is a new James Bond movie coming soon, eg. with CR, but we don't know which actor yet, then I have this generic 007 in my head, dark hair, tall, brooding.

So, I made my decision and to for me it is Moore. He was the first Bond a saw and he's still my favourite.

Pierce Brosnan is the best for me. Great sense of humour, great quotes and generally Bondian behaviour. 2nd choice Roger.

Roger Moore is my all time favourite.
When I was about 4 years old, I entered my cousins room and he was watching AVTAK. Of course he sended me out but I remember seeing Moore for short moment.

8 years later, in 2001, I read in the TV-guide that they would air FYEO at primetime. Wich other 20-year-old film would be shown on primetime? So I asked my parents if I could watch it. They said yes and my "never ending love" with Bond started.

It started by watching a movie starring R. Moore and even today I still see Bond in him, like in no other actor.

It's surprising to see where Lazenby ended up on your list...

First post. Here goes:

1. Sean Connery/Daniel Craig
3. Pierce Brosnan
4. Roger Moore
5. Timothy Dalton
6. George Lazenby

Having said that, I think they're all incredibly competent Bonds, and they all have their strengths and weaknesses. At the end of the day I would love any of them playing Bond.

Timothy Dalton. He was my first Bond and always will be. Although I love Daniel Craig's work on Casino Royale, it was a tough decision. But I think in time Daniel Craig will be the best Bond in the series.

Although now when I'm reading the books, I'm trying to imagine the actual Fleming character.

My list:

1. Timothy Dalton
2. Daniel Craig
3. Sir Sean Connery
4. Sir Roger Moore
5. George Lazenby
6. Pierce Brnsan

Sean Connery.

Ursula Andress, Roger Moore, and Daniel Craig think so, too. You gonna argue with them?

There can only be one, and his name is Connery, Sean Connery. Nothing comes close to the original 007.

I couldn't agree more.

I actually rank Connery my worst Bond. I still like him though. I just think that he's so overrated.

Roger is my fave, followed by Craig, Dalton, Lazenby, Brosnan and lastly, Connery.

Roger is just charming, I love all of his work.

Craig is absoloutly fantastic.

Dalton kicks :( tbh.

Lazenby didn't have time to develop his Bond, but I loved him in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.

Brosnan is quite awesome, a cross between Moore and Connery, his movies are weak though, not due to the lead actor, but the script.

Connery was good for about three movies, From Russia With Love, Goldfinger and Thunderball. I was talking to Sharpshooter earlier on today and I agree with him when I say that Dr. No is a good thriller. But it's not From Russia With Love by any means.

I think he's more like a cross between Dalton and Moore in Goldeneye, and a cross between Lazenby and Moore in TND and DAD. Not sure what was going on in TWINE.

I can't make a list at the moment, I only could say that Sean Connery was the best. But Roger Moore comes close, I actually grew up with Moore as Bond, he was always my favourite until I saw the sixties Bondfilms.

Of course I vote for Dan. Before CR I thought of Bond as just anti-USSR propaganda and explosions with no substance (without having seen most of the films :( )

But now I discovered them and surprisingly loved most of the movies. And Bonds. I dont have a list. Its unfair for me to rank them because they're represent different sides of the character. I simply love them all.
